Will Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Arbeloa out with a hamstring injury for at least a fortnight - not good news. What?!? Source?
Kahnee Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 What?!? Source? Liverpool have suffered another injury blow with the news that right back Alvaro Arbeloa is facing a spell on the sidelines. The Spanish defender pulled up during training yesterday and is believed to have sustained a hamstring strain. The extent of the injury was being assessed at Melwood today, but Arbeloa is likely to be out for at least a fortnight, leaving Benitez with the option of shifting Jamie Carragher to right back or promoting promising youngster Stephen Darby. It's on the 2nd pageHaven't seen it reported anywhere else though
Flasher Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Carragher is too slow for the right hand side. Of course he'd do a job, but it will knacker him for the next game.. He should stay central and Darby should play.
Mike Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 id play darby or carragher happily. i've not been impressed with arbeloa lately so this isn't such a blow imo.
CarraLegend Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 This is a huge test when you're struggling at home, they're doing ok away though got whooped at Villa. Let's hope if its 0-0 after 60mins we benefit from corruption like the dirty, filthy, cheating pieces of manc filth did.
Tommy Cockles Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 All I want for Xmas is for Torres to be fit for Boxing Day.
Cam Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I'd normally plump for Darby, particularly as we're at home, but him and Insua as fullbacks may be too much. Also... I love that the Kop applauds the visiting 'keepers but Jaaskelainen has never responded. Why give him the satisfaction of snubbing. He'll be thinking it through before they come out and chuckling away to himself. Throw Xmas left-overs at the **** instead.
Swagger Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 As much as I am in favour of youngsters to be given a chance, I'll go with Carra at RB and Hyypia alongside Agger to counter Bolton's aerial threat. Cannot wait for this game to start. A win at Anfield against a so called 'lessor' team should shut up a few mouths.

McBain Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 No chance of a full strength line up today with Newcastle so close. Reckon Darby, Insua, Lucas, Benayoun and Babel could all start.
Murphman Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 agree, it'll be elmander and davies and lots of aerial ball. why did we sign degen again? how did he pass the medical? He's like a purple Ralph Lauren. You know it's sh*t and you won't wear it but it's cheap.
Swagger Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 He's like a purple Ralph Lauren. You know it's sh*t and you won't wear it but it's cheap. Thing is, he wasn't cheap: he's reputedly on 40K a week and received a 2m signing on bonus. Don't know what Rafa was thinking signing the brittle f***.
Stevie H Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 He's like a purple Ralph Lauren. You know it's sh*t and you won't wear it but it's cheap.i don't understand that murph.
aka Dus Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 Hyppia would have played anyway so I reckon Carra RB. Am home for the Xmas so I'm guessing that P2P sites are the only place to see this live? There are no boozers with foreign sports channels on in my locality.
David Hodgson Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 He's like a purple Ralph Lauren. You know it's sh*t and you won't wear it but it's cheap. Brings to mind that Woody Allen line when someone comments that 'the food in this restaurant is awful.' to which woody adds 'and such small portions.'
