will hold off on committing his future until the end of the season he can see whether Newcastle go down or if he can get a better offer

However, despite refusing to sign a new three-year contract offer, he has announced he simply wants more time to decide, adding "it is not about money".

"I hope this will be seen as a positive and not disloyal in any way," he said.

Well I can't see how it could possibly be viewed as disloyal or concerned with money.

What a chiseler. If you want a mercenary, he's your man. If you want to improve your team, the run like hell from him.

It's really awful how he plays this little game. He was so bloody awesome from 1998-2002. Since then he has successfully sh*t all over his own legacy.

That's a bit extreme, IMO, although he's only got himself to blame for ending up at such a crap team.

Whst he is essentially doing is waiting for a bigger club to come in, and if none does, he'll say that he intended to stay at Newcastle all along.

he does not know who the Newcastle owner or manager will be next season.

I wouldn't be signing anything if I was him.

Agree. Also doesn't his current contract pay him 100k a week? Why sign a new one that is reportedly going to pay him 25-30k a week less until necessary?

I don't think it's extreme at all. He did all this to us, a 'bigger club' came in and off he went to watch the European Cup Final on telly in Spanish.

hehehe....

I'd still have him back at Anfield....

So would I.

I would welcome him and Andy's season ticket with open arms

Ha ha ha. Indeed.

:)

If the Newcastle fans believe that given his past history then they are nuts

:D

He'll probably sign for Manchester City on £400k a week.
