f***ing hell!!

We're still defending well generally but he's bailed us out a lot this season. Brilliant.

He's always been a great keeper, even when the panic-bots were slagging him off, but I think in the last 18 months he has elevated his game to another level again. I think he's as good as any keeper in the game.

[General Opinion]But he makes too many mistakes and will never be in Cech's league[/General Opinion]

Ha! I know a few Arsenal fans who think he's gash and rate Almunia above him. They also think Almunia should play for England and is by far England's best option.

It was a classy save though and in the last few years Reina's kept us in the game atleast as many times as Stevie has done. Fantastic find from Rafa.

Compare that with Robinson's efforts today. Comedy. :D

Definitely one of the most under rated players in the PL, the fact hes won the golden glove every season since he signed seems to have been over looked by most pundits.

I agree hes quickly becoming our best ever, if you watch him play he very rarely has to make those full length saves because his positioning and footwork is as good as anybody, he very often makes difficult saves look easy because of his reading of the game.

better than clem... must be kidding

not a bit of it. Clem had the best side ever in front of him. Clem was also extremely poor kicking from the floor. reina is as good a passer of the football as some of our outfield players.

bit of a pointless comparison seeing as Clem was always allowed to pick it up

very hard to compare tbh

great save today from Reina - as good as i've seen this season

Clemence effectively invented the Goalkeeper as covering defender; he redefined the role.

F365 had a ranking of current Prem goalies this week, put Reina second to Jaaskaleinen, mainly becasue of his performance at Hull - but called it right compared to Cech, Friedel etc. - and fwiw, explicitly mentioned the Golden Gloves as evidence.

Speaking of goalkeepers, what was Robinson doing for the 1st goal. That arching dive smacked of grandstanding-in-defeat. I accept that it would have been a tremendous save had he got to it but when a shot is rolled along the ground, why dive in an arching, spectacular fashion - almost over the ball. The more I see it, the more I think he could have got finger tips to it had he dived properly. Given the pace of the ball, finger tips might have done.

i've said this before, but for me, he is the best keeper we have ever had, and certainly the best in the league

bit daft that wayne tbh.

He's sh*te. He never moves his feet. He's the total opposite of Reina.

I thought he could have done better with the second as well. He jumps up before he goes down.

why? because you dont agree. i'm not saying Clemence wasnt a great keeper, because he was, but i just think Reina is a better all round goalkeeper. Clemence left us when he was what, 31 or 32? what should have the peak of his career. He never won anything else after he left, infact, he didnt exactly stand out in the Tottenham side as brilliant either.

Its the kinda save that Westerveld wouldnt have even dived for and came out and said;

"Its not my fault, Stevie gave the ball away, no one closed him down, the ball swerved, it went in the top corner ........ whaddya mean I didnt dive, it went in the top corner, I couldnt possibly have been expected to save that"

Wonderful save !

this peak business differs from player to player e.g if you are a top club and a top player there is more of chance of a burnout physically and more important mentally.. Clem played for the best and he was that good to be called the best keeper in the world at a time when there was Banks, Zoff etc.. Reina has a long way to go to match Clem and in all fairness i think he has a chance to surpass him but at the moment he is a great player but the best ever is a stretch

Did he not win the FA Cup with Spurs in 82?
