I think it's absolutely stupid. Rafa won't play Babel but wants to bring in some guy from the Championship? Nonsense.

Oh I hope you're on the wind-up...

Unless you're joking.

Do you guys really think Hammill will make a difference? We should use our existing options first.

Edit: and yes, I shouldn't have used "some guy", but my point is he's hardly integrated into the team is he? And he doesn't play PL football. It won't help anyone to throw him into the squad in mid-January.

right now - I'd take [insert any youth team/reserve team player's name] over Babel/Benayoun/Keane

I have no idea. But i expect you don't either. Which is what makes your little tantrum hilarious

Oh and Ryan Babel was s**** against 'League One' Crewe

he is our existing option, come January there is no difference between him and Babel.

(well, apart from one is black , and dutch, and their age...)

we need hungry players - i vote for not feeding the team for at least two days before matches - if they win they can eat, if not - sack them

Yes, I do. Not like he's spent loads of time at LFC over the last 18 months though, has he?

No but he was given a 3 year deal in the summer so chances are somebody sees something in him

Hammill has started 11 & been sub in 8 games all competitions for Blackpool, scoring once with one assist. His 4 yellow cards is the highest at the club! His shots on goal are the 2nd highest at the club with 13 on target, 20 off target and 1 hitting the woodwork.

In January, he will be one of the existing options, what with actually being one of our players already n that.

And the reason he hasn't been around the club much is because he's been out getting first-team experience, rather than just titting about in the reserves (which most people agree, is nowhere near the level needed to make the step up).

And, unless I'm mistaken, have we not already exhausted our existing options? Have we not played everyone who is even vaguely a wide-right player, bar Gerrard, at some point this season?

And I think Dee may be on to something here...

No quotes from Rafa.

Maybe Sky just made this up.

Hamill is hugely talented, but hugely inconsistent as well. Not a bad option to have off the bech to change a game like last night though. Might as well bring him back and see if he's up to it. That article has no quotes though, don't know how much credence I'd give it.

Momo was given a 4 year deal before being sold. Xabi a 4 year before being put on the auction block. I don't think you can draw any conclusions from it. Wait until Brouwer gets an extension.

I don't think the above statistics help the Hammill case.

Well,Rafa wasn't shy about using El Zhar when some creativity was needed-so it's not a complete surprise.

Right, so I'd focus on getting El Zhar minutes.

He is our player in name, but he hasn't been around in ages. 18 months away for a 20 year old player is a huge amount of time. If we put Hammill in, we'll have to go through 5 appearances of "he's just getting used to PL football", 5 more of "he's getting used to his teammates", and 5 more of "he's getting used to Rafa's tactics". The season will be over by then. This is not the way to bring him back into the fold. Give him a proper preseason and then let him hit the ground running.

well i agree on the inconsistency bit but anyone who has seen him will testify to his potential.. ive followed him since he was a kid and i would love it if he made a big impact
