Talking ahead of the Inter-Juve match at the weekend (From the Gazzetta)

 

"To feel the warmth of the people is nice, having the affection of the supporters makes me proud. It happened to me in Spain, but not in England. Everyone is asking for 3 points from Inter and that I score. Let's hope so, it would be great. This year I feel it more because we are there close to the top of the league and it's a special derby. I've played for Liverpool and the battle with Man United had an importance that was different compared to the derby with Everton. Here it is the same thing, the derby with Inter is more than that with Torino."

His support only took a downturn when he started regularly having games with around 10% pass completion rate.

My favourite Momo moment was in the Cup against Birmingham. We were already 7-0 up, it was injury time and yet he still threw himself into a proper 50-50 with one of their yard-dogs.

To be fair to Momo, he had just come back from an eye injury and wasnt seeing well under lights.

 

The united game was a lunch time kick off though

To be fair, we didn't fully appreciate his contribution when we won the champions league

 

Definitely - Sissoko was an unsung, unseen, unheralded hero of our Champions League success. He's so modest about it himself you won't see him on a single picture with the trophy either.

 

Momo was a crowd favourite here though and his song to 'the banana splits' was sung loud and often home and away so I feel a bit put out about these comments to be honest.

 

I don't think anyone turned on him when he went to pieces either; mostly people were just confused as to what the f*ck he was doing during the last 6 months or so.

 

That booting the ball up in the air was hilarious in hindsight, appalling at the time. His display at home to Marseille in the Champions League during his last season was the single worst individual display I've ever seen from a top professional.

 

Rafa didn't help him by leaving him on for 90 minutes when he was in bits though.

He was a huge part of our midfield in the season we came third, only a point behind united. Rafa then managed to get Mascherano who was equally rabid but an even better tackler and better on the ball.

 

Momo's Davids look was boss.

Dossena is considered a top professional in Italy, his display last week at Spurs was worse than that.

 

I think the crowd did turn on him, it got to the stage where his first touch was greeted with an apprehensive intake of breath, if it went wrong he was given dogs abuse for the rest of the game. There was no way back for him and moving was the best thing for all parties.

That was the same match where he came back from his eye injury as he was wearing those protective goggles. He decided he didn't like them after 5 minutes, took them off and then tore into all of their players. What a legend.

Masch is undoubtedly better on the ball. That and his consistency make him the superior player.

 

However, when Momo was on top of his game (e.g. Nou Camp) he was unplayable - I'm not sure Masch has the athleticism to pull off a performance like that.
