Ben 23 Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Should have played tonight but wasn't involved at all. Why? Pennant on the right and Babel supporting Torres, with N'gog nowhere near the team, would have been much stronger in my opinion.
MFletcher Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 He didn't play because he's mediocre and likely to be shipped out during January. If he had played and done poorly, you'd have complained about a soon-to-be-sold player hogging the place of a young player who should be given a chance. Ngog was given a chance and was extremely poor.
Mike Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 where was pennant is a good point. there's another £7m...he's not injured as far as im aware.if he isn't playing in games such as that, then theres something very stupid going on.

Zoob Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Meh, Pennant would have played where El Zhar did, and El Zhar was among the best of a bad bunch tonight. Think things are pretty bad if we're bemoaning the fact that Pennant wasn't around.
MFletcher Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 If we had played Pennant and he'd been s****, then the common theme would have been that he's hogging the place of a young player who should be given a chance.
lawrie Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Pennant has gone worse in people's minds since he's not been playing, unlike Crouch who at the time seemed to get much better. Jermaine should definately have played tonight (and this is not hindsight)
Mike Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 deffo. that was a f***ing car crash tonight. smashola.
Ben 23 Posted November 12, 2008 Author Posted November 12, 2008 But we weren't playing youngsters we were playing squad players, so he would have fitted in perfectly. He was one of our best players in the previous round and deserved to keep his place. And even if he is to be sold in January there is still an advantage in playing him so people can see what he's like or maybe just remember who he is.

Jermaine should definately have played tonight (and this is not hindsight) You were championing him to start before the game then i take it? Fact is, we were bad, we are better than that, as we showed in the second half. Its was a bad f***ing day, get over it, and be pleased it came in the Carling f***ing Cup. Spoiled brats some of ye.
smithdown Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 El Zhar is deffo ahead of Pennant in the pecking order, even after tonight.

I did not post the text you've quoted.
Scapegoat Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 what? spoilt brats? wtf are you talking about? that was a disgrace. Yeah, your a brat. One turgid half of football and your crying away like a little girl. Grow up.
LondonRed Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Should have played tonight but wasn't involved at all. Why? because he's s***, needs to be sold asap even if the team did play crap last night. Thinks he's better then he is the way he carries himself and all that talk of wanting to break into the england team not to long ago just made me laugh. There's no point of giving him any glimmer of hope he's going to get into the team whatever the situation.
johngibo YPC Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 El Zhar is deffo ahead of Pennant in the pecking order, even after tonight. Pennant is the one who has started a league game though. Or was it a champions league game?A 'big' game anyway
dorgie Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Perhaps we didn't want to cup tie Pennant cos the clubs that are likely to be in for him are clubs that might want to take this competition seriously as an avenue in to Europe (i.e Spurs) ?

carrafan Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 he already played against CrewePennant is s****, I hope to never see him in a liverpool shirt again We had far worse players on the pitch yesterday. What must Pennant have done to piss Rafa off i'll never know. I thought it was great attitude from him to play for the reserves last season when he wasnt getting the games. Dossena, Cavilieri, Degen etc should be played in the reserves till they are in tune with the tactics, city etc.
dorgie Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 He played in the last round la I try not to let facts get in the way of a good point I'm trying to make, so neither should you.
Hassony Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Dossena, Cavilieri, Degen etc should be played in the reserves till they are in tune with the tactics, city etc. I think Cavilieri is a decent keeper, he needs games to stay focused and fresh though, I don't understand why he hasn't played for the reserves yet this season
