CarraLegend Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Lets smash these and hopefully Marseille beat PSV. They're bringing a few 1000 aswell which is good.
Will Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 We're doomed we're doomed... It's all black.What is?
johngibo YPC Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Really looking forward to thisRegret not taking a scarf to Madrid to swap so will try and take one to work tomorrow
Guy_Incognito Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I've been looking forward to this for weeks, however the all-dayer I went on on Sunday appears to still be having a draining effect on me. I can't be bothered at the moment. No doubt that'll all change once I start making my way, like. And if not, I may just have to attempt to Man Up, FFS.
Montse Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Marca seem to think Torres will not be risked, dunno how reliable that is? Shame if true but hope he is in the stands if notere
M4TTA Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 reading Gerrards notes on the offal, seem very positive and mentions the dressing room after spurs were still positive despite the defeat. As he said, and has been mentioned in the spurs thread, a positive result and performance is the best way to put that to bed and kick on again. I suspect Madrid will be fired up for this, reminds me of the Benfica game a few years back.

Nah, it's a group game Both teams can go through (and probably will) irrespective of tonight Be good for us to win though, obviously. The sooner we can rotate in the CL the better

The sooner we can rotate in the CL the better If we had won on saturday I wouldn't be overly bothered if we win or drew as we will qualify from the group regardless, however, I think it is imprortant to win tonight to keep confidence high.

Gerrardrules Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) Marseille vs PSV might postphoned due to heavy rain. Edited November 4, 2008 by Gerrardrules
muleskinner Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 The Liverpool team in full: Reina, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Carragher, Agger, Mascherano, Alonso, Gerrard, Riera, Kuyt, Keane. Subs: Cavalieri, Dossena, Benayoun, Babel, Lucas, Ngog, Degen.
M4TTA Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Robbie Keane leads the line for Liverpool in tonight's Champions League clash at home to Atletico Madrid - which means Fernando Torres misses out on an emotional reunion with his former club. The Spaniard does not even make the bench as Rafael Benitez makes just one change form the side that lost at Spurs with Fabio Aurelio coming in at left-back for Andrea Dossena. The Liverpool team in full: Reina, Arbeloa, Aurelio, Carragher, Agger, Mascherano, Alonso, Gerrard, Riera, Kuyt, Keane. Subs: Cavalieri, Dossena, Benayoun, Babel, Lucas, Ngog, Degen.
antidote Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 yossi.. either way happy.. hopeful Torres will be back to full fitness next weekend and we will hammer WBA
Cam Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 The team looks... solid. Should be plenty strong enough. But back on with my Mr Negative hat... 1 up front with that one being goal-shy Keane isn't ideal. And the bench looks crap. Just an 8-0 win methinks.
Knox_Harrington Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 And the bench looks crap. The bench emphasises why we are still one or even two very good players short of really feeling confident of a genuine title challenge and emphasises how well we've done so far this season. Not to say it is impossible but as Sutty says, the sooner we can rest the better.
Cam Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 The bench emphasises why we are still one or even two very good players short...True. We're only really missing Skrtel and Torres and it looks weak. Dunno why but I'm quite nervy about this one. I really shouldn't be.

Not to say it is impossible but as Sutty says, the sooner we can rest the better. an italian international, a brazilian international, a dutch international, the israeli captain, a swiss international and a french under 21 international its not that bad
Knox_Harrington Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 an italian international, a brazilian international, a dutch international, the israeli captain, a swiss international and a french under 21 international its not that badIt's very good but Chelsea's is significantly superior (though due to injury it won't be tonight). You'd struggle to make a coherent case for any one of our bench being first choice week in, week out. We're only one or two short but over ten months of challenging on at least two fronts those one or two could prove vital.
Sion Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 It's very good but Chelsea's is significantly superior (though due to injury it won't be tonight). If we had a full strength squad we'd have either Agger or Skrtel on the bench + whoever gets dropped for TorresThat would instantly make it look a lot stronger.
baz2107 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 True. We're only really missing Skrtel and Torres and it looks weak. Dunno why but I'm quite nervy about this one. I really shouldn't be. Also Sami, meaning we are screwed should we lose a centre half. Still think its reasonaby strong, they're mainly internationals, there's a reason that Chelsea have a stronger bench than us, a very good reason Mr Abramovich. Rafa had only so much money to spend this summer and previous summers for that matter, I for one am glad he has mainly concentrated on bringing in quality over quantity for the first team. The rules in regard to the Champions League squads this season really hasn't helped.
sutty Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 yer realise that, what i meant wa in termsof desire to win etc More a statement re you likening this to Benfica.
Sion Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Sergio 'gol aguero gol gol gol' Aguero is on the bench again for them, even though they seemed to play much better with him in the side first game.
