LondonRed Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 (edited) Diego Maradona will be visiting Anfield on Tuesday for the Liverpool vs A.Madrid game. Obviously they'll be a lot of his country men he'll want to meet, in particular our Javier, not forgetting his son in law Kun Aguero will also be in town. Rafa Welcomes Maradona Would love him to get a huge reception on Tuesday and i know Macherano would be really made up Chants of 'Argentina, Argentina' or does anyone have any ideas? Woodsyla Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Classic Rafa "Diego will be very welcome to come to our training ground next week, and to see the match. Maybe I can persuade him to take a few free-kicks.''
LondonRed Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 I hear we can get him on a bosman. If only, i'd still take him, drop gerrard to cm and play him in front of gerrard and mascherano
MFletcher Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 He deserves a standing ovation for that alone.
richwilks Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 If only, i'd still take him, drop gerrard to cm and play him in front of gerrard and mascherano But then Gerrard and Mascherano wouldn't be able to see the goal.
Guy_Incognito Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Did you see him on that charity game a couple of years back. He couldn't move much, but he still knew what to do with the ball. Like a poor man's Jan Molby...

He just wanted an excuse to come and see his "English team" in action and sample the CL atmosphere!
Tommy Cockles Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Hmmm. Viz's description of him as "the stumpy Argentinian cheat" in his appearance in Billy the Fish is about as accurate as it gets.
Swan Red Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Hmmm. Viz's description of him as "the stumpy Argentinian cheat" in his appearance in Billy the Fish is about as accurate as it gets. hardly the guy was a genius it's not like the drugs made him a better player
floyd Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Didn't he mention that Liverpool would of one of his clubs to play for after leaving Barca, but because of Thatcher's plan to make the nation forget about the recession we were in and invade the Malvinas, it was a no no??Probably couldn't of afforded the little genius anyway, but it's nice to dream of a forward line of Kenny, Rushie, and two probables, Maradona and Laudrup
WillG Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 (edited) For Mexico 86 alone he is a god - 3rd best player ever! Edited October 31, 2008 by WillG
