johngibo YPC Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Very tired, no sleepGood trip all in all. Real joke getting in. Two entrances about 12 feet wide for all the away fans. Searched countless times. Took about an hour to get inAtletico fans were class though. We got kept behind and alot of them stayed just to sing songs with us. Seeing about 1/3 of their ultras singing YNWA about 15 minutes after the final whistle was amazing. When they finally let us out their fans had lined the streets and were applauding us. It was amazing. Hope loads of them come over for the next game Sure you all saw the game like
kop205 Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Surely allowing them to stay behind with you and then line the streets when you eventually did get out kind of defeats the purpose of keeping you back in the first place!
smithdown Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Sounds good. Got a text off my cousin from in the home end saying they were all sound, passing round the chong and that.
Guest DanTheDaggerman Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 No trouble with the police? Sounds great, if so.
Raj Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 The c**** were so badly organised, I ended up missing the first 20 mins. Two turnstiles for 3000 fans is a pisstake. I got to the stadium 45 mins before the game and ended up in a crush outside the stadium. w*****s. Good to see you last night Gibo
David Hodgson Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 No trouble with the police? Sounds great, if so. I was there. The police were a f&cking disgrace .
Bologna Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Alright, Davy lad!!As bad as our friends, the Carabinieri?
Maldini Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 This is great http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=QF51xmWP7rw
Mike Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 two turnstiles for 4000 fans. searched 3 times within the space of a few yards. only letting one in at a time, bizzies were clueless and useless and did nothing to alleviate the inevitable crush, loads missed the first half.
Tetti Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Dreadful organisation ( again). I left the bar a bit earlier than Raj and got in just about 5 mins before kick off. Thanks to Garreth, who looked after me in the queue, it was not as bad for me, as say Benfica or Chelsea away last time. But I hear it got much worse. On the lower tier where i was, there was no aisle, gangway of any sort, you could not move in or out. The stewards all stood and watched the game from the ground level and made no attempt to keep exits clear. Saw part of the team leave after the game. A lot of Spanish fans hanging round to see their Euro heroes. Pepe and Arbeloa came over for pics and signed things. Alonso did not. But the star was Kuyt who posed paitently for photos, signed anything and was a real gem for those waiting.
David Hodgson Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Alright, Davy lad!!As bad as our friends, the Carabinieri? Aha ! Yeah, same league kidda. Hope all are well. You over for xmas ?
Guest PaulMcC Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I'ver read our stewards were a joke and done f*** all to organise the crowd.
johngibo YPC Posted October 24, 2008 Author Posted October 24, 2008 I'ver read our stewards were a joke and done f*** all to organise the crowd. There was f*** all they could doThey can't do anything inside the groundOutside the ground the problem was not enough turnstiles and far too many searches What did these people moan about?

johngibo YPC Posted October 24, 2008 Author Posted October 24, 2008 Doing nothing to organise crowds, being mouthy c****, letting anyone in. i don't know what you mean by the last bit. Its not up to them to let people in or notThey were directing people were to go. in terms of organising the crowds the Spanish police were well and truly in charge of that one!!I have no idea of they were being mouthy or not, although i'd be suprised
Tetti Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Well I was there and would defend our stewards on this occasion. The guys at the pathway were good, told us where to go, said what to expect at the next checkpoint. The one who was just in front of the cordon kept saying to us, just smile at them, dont talk to them or touch them, its all very calm, lets keep it that way and keep smiling.
