Ben 23 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 -----------------ReinaArbeloa-----Carra'---Agger---DossenaGerrard-----Masch'--Alonso-----Reira--------------Kuyt----Keane----------- I'd like to see that but Gerrard won't play on the right. Could be that team but with Dirk on the right and Gerrard behind Keane or maybe Benayoun will start on the right with Keane dropping to the bench and Gerrard behind Dirk.
Alonso Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Wonder if Babel will get a start if he's fit. We could use his pace on the break.
Bailo Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Could be Aguirre's last match if they don't win apparantly.
dalennie Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Rain forecast on wednesday but due to clear up late afternoon. Anybody know where the pre-match get-together is happening?...Plaza del mayor??
Marvin Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 That Villa e Madrid trophy that we won in '87. There was a story about that on LFC TV a while back about how Athletico would win this enormous trophy every year because they always played some local team that they were guaranteed to beat but in that year, I think the story was that Kenny was looking to set up a pre-season friendly and arranged for us to play them - they somewhat reluctantly agreed and lost it much to their chagrin!

stressederic Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 You know, it's funny, I was just thinking the other day how good it would be if we didn't have to play this match in Madrid...
anny road Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 (edited) El Nino has chosen to remain in the UK, rather than go as a VIP to Madrid good lad Edited October 21, 2008 by anny road
Hassony Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 El Nino has chosen to remain in the UK, rather than go as a VIP to Madrid good lad Probably didn't want to be seen on telly supporting atletico the big traitor I bet his injury is a fake as well

IcelandicFan Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Aguero not going to start ? This is from www.soccernet.com "Atletico have lost Czech Republic defender Tomas Ujfalusi to injury and are likely to field a number of squad players ahead of next weekend's trip to face Villarreal in the league. Weary Argentina striker Sergio Aguero could start on the bench." Good news for us if he is on the bench

Bit odd though, I'll be suprised if Aguirre can risk losing tomorrow job-wise.

Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 f***in love himLiverpool are a special club, says Luis GarciaTimes Online Luis Garcia, the Atletico Madrid forward, has assured Liverpool supporters that he will feel no joy should he score against his former club in the Champions League tomorrow. The Spanish international left Anfield during the summer of 2007, but says his three years at Liverpool will always hold a special place in his heart. As he prepares to face his former club for the first time since his departure Garcia says he will have mixed feelings about taking on Liverpool at the Vicente Calderon. "I am always happy to score goals and I am an Atletico player now,” Garcia said. "In my heart I would feel strange, and I would say 'sorry' because I wouldn't feel any joy scoring against Liverpool. “It makes me happy that Liverpool fans look back and appreciate what I gave to the team. There were times last year when I wished I was back there, when I watched Liverpool games and thought I could add something to the team, I became frustrated just thinking about it." If Wednesday’s game will be a special moment for the forward then Garcia says the return fixture at Anfield, on November 4, will be an even more emotionally-charged occasion. "The game in Liverpool will be very special for me, in terms of sentimentality, the biggest of my career,” Garcia said. "I was not able to say goodbye properly when I left because I was injured at the end of the season, it was the worst way possible to finish my career there. "I was so happy there and am desperate to play one more game at Anfield."
San Diego Red Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 A come and get me plea if I ever read one in an internet news article!

The goal against Juve, the goals against blueshyte, the goals against Chelsea in Champions League and FA Cup, the ending of Roy Keane's carrer. Anyone who has a go at Luis wants their head examined.
John am Rhein Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 Is this match at 'the Vicente Calderon' or at the stadium named after him?
