Mortgage Shortfall Letters

Have just received a shortfall notice from Legal & General saying that the projected shortfall, (Endowment Policy matures 2012) ranges from £4,500 - £21,000, depending on future performance.

 

This stuff gives me instant headaches. Anyone else faced with this & what is the consensus as to the best way to deal with it.
