LondonRed Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Watching the Barca game last night and noticed that once again that T.Henry was left on the bench. Commentators were saying that he and Guardiola aren’t seeing eye to eye. They decided to bring on messi, Eider.G, and Bojan ahead of him for the last 15-20mins to win the cup tie.Anyone else think he'd be a good loan acquisition?

He would be a good loan player, but I would prefer Owen and/or Heskey ahead of him.

Nate. Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 He would be a good loan player, but I would prefer Owen and/or Heskey ahead of him. Henry > Owen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Heskey

WOW really? im not so sure..not to fond of either of them anymore, maybe owen but id much rather take Henry over both of them *can SOS get a message to Rafa now there in with him?* Edited September 25, 2008 by LondonRed
Guest Snorky Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 You surely can not be serious? Deadly. Infact I would put Emile before the pair of them. I think Emile would be a perfect partner for Torres, much better than anything we've got at the club at the moment for that particular roll.

Ignoring Kev's man love for Big Em for one moment, I can actually see the logic in what he says and tend to agree.

He doesn't need a partner as such.
Guest Snorky Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Allow me to make a case for Eric Gates. Sure, where's he off to, somewhere nice ?

Duncan Disorderly Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Allow me to make a gate for Jimmy Case

Nate. Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 The thought of Heskey winning a header and then limping around the pitch for the rest of the game fills me with dread. Please not again.
Stevie H Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 i don't think torres benefits much from any kind of a distinct forward partner. not in a front two anyway.

How much creative ability does partner #2 require ? Ask Owen, ask Fowler, ask Claridge, ask Cottee ask any forward who has played with him. They all benefitted from Emile's unselfish work. Infact at Leicester he only played one game with Stan Collymore, and Collymore got a hat-trick, Emile does the brutal stuff, the donkey work (cue forum laughter), but that's his biggest asset. He's prepared to take the knocks for the team, you say he falls over, after the Man United Worthington Cup Final he couldn't walk for two days after the kicking he got. Capello sees exactly what Emile can offer to a side, plus the fact Emile loves the club and the city and when I asked him would he come back, his answer was "In a heartbeat".

Cunny, I've spent years defending him, it cost me my job, my family, my insanity......It's a 24/7 job, do you really want it ?

Well it did take a knock when he was asked to play on the left or right of midfield.
smicer07 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I just saw him in Mazin Pizza in Rock Ferry.

I remember you saying when he left that you'd become quite close to Emile - I just never realised it was 'that' type of relationship To be fair, I think he'd be the perfect foil for Torres against certain types of opposition (last Saturday anyone?) and wouldn't be suprised to see him back come January especially considering we'd get him for next to nowt.
