Ant's absolutely right.

 

Torres was deemed a failure. He may have scored 33 goals but the team finished a place lower and went out a round earlier in the European Cup. He's been roundly written off by fans and pundits alike.

Good player or not, he has brought nothing to the team so far. Usually with any new signing you see glimpses of what the player can do even if things aren't going great straight away. Keane has shown absolutely nothing so far, even in pre-season, to say he is an improvement on Crouch (or even Voronin).

I stated when we bought him I think we've massively over-paid, and he's more the standard of Bellamy than Torres, hope i'm proved wrong in the coming weeks, but it doesn't look likely. Not really sure what he offers to the team? hasn't created anything for other players, has hardly had more than half a dozen attempts on goal, let alone good attempts. At least Kuyt gets in the positions to miss lots of chances each game, Keane hasn't even managed that. Each of his games seem to be summed up by 89 minutes of nothingness, interrupted by one scuffed shot at the keeper or into the ground. Not impressed at all.

Despite claiming otherwise, I think his lack of a goal is bothering him - and it's showing. He's tense, starting to worry etc.

 

Once a couple go in, the confidence will come back and he'll be fine. He's more than good enough for us anyway, so I don't see the rush to write him off.

Penalties are not like corners, you don't average around 5 a match. He might be on a run of goals by the time our next penalty is given.

Whilst giving people a chance to moan directly about the player it also offers the chance to have ago at Rafa for wasting money. For the drama queens in here it does not get any better than that.
