Cobs Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 don't suppose he minds where it comes v Stoke on Saturday would be nice, though against the bluschite next week would be sweeter anyway here's 20 of them for your enjoyment - listen to it with the sound down not sure about the overall order this bloke's got them in but feck me there's some stunning goals in there, i think last night's effort might just creep in there now too
MFletcher Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Is it not 'Steven'? Cracking player though. The sheer number of top notch goals he has accumulated over the years is ridiculous. His best one has to be his second in the FA Cup final - stunning.
Cobs Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 (edited) Is it not 'Steven'? ahh whatever feck 'im His best one has to be his second in the FA Cup final - stunning. the one he smashes at the Kop end - think it's v Southampton is his best, for me i mean in terms of importance the West Ham, Olympiakos, Milan goals take it hands down but that power of that strike is absolutely amazing Edited September 17, 2008 by Cobs
Sion Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 who does the flick on for the first goal? Is it Owen?
Cobs Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 who does the flick on for the first goal? Is it Owen? looks like him, tidy touch, isn't it?

Guest Ant Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 hes not as good as frank lampard according to talksport btw Depends which Gerrard..Steven or Stephen?
RP Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 who does the flick on for the first goal? Is it Owen? Danny Murphy.
Spike Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 He doesn't score enough with his head, or indeed the ear, back if the knee, and deflections off the aura of an opposing player to be considered a great midfield goalscorer for us
Cobs Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 hes not as good as frank lampard according to talksport btw listened to that driving down to cornwall last week and they seemed to be saying the opposite
Cobs Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 Depends which Gerrard..Steven or Stephen? alright cockknocker - i don't think you're in any position to be giving out the spelling lessons
Guest Ant Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 alright cockknocker - i don't think you're in any position to be giving out the spelling lessons Neither is anyone else
surf Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 surprised he's 'only' got 99 after 10 years to be honest, thought he'd be on a bit more
Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 You mean he hasn't hit 100 already? Just goes to show how good his goalscoring has become in the last 4 or 5 years, that I expected him to have got more than 100 already.
Mike Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 listened to that driving down to cornwall last week and they seemed to be saying the opposite not tonight. quelle surprise
adiman Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 I'm not a regular matchgoer but have been lucky enbough to see the United, Alaves, Milan final and Olympiacos goals he scored in the flesh. The West Ham FA Cup final wins it for me for the occasion and the technique
Mike Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 surprised he's 'only' got 99 after 10 years to be honest, thought he'd be on a bit morereally? its not been 10 years though has it and he's played at centre mid for the vast majority of his games.
Maldini Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 surprised he's 'only' got 99 after 10 years to be honest, thought he'd be on a bit more He only really started scoring loads of goals when Rafa came and changed his game. 98/99: 12 games (0 goals)99/00: 31 (1)00/01: 50 (10)01/02: 30 (4)02/03: 55 (7)03/04: 47 (7)04/05: 56 (13)05/06: 52 (22)06/07: 55 (14)07/08: 49 (20)
Cobs Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 not tonight. quelle surprise well, in the last week i've heard Durham, Wright & Townsend all state a preference for Steven that fat t*** Parry was winding it up on Friday saying has he missed the boat for England by not playing last week and now Lampard has his place - he was pretty much shouted down by all and sundry but there you go - light entertainment that station, take everything with a pinch of salt - most presenters change their opinions like the wind
Nerik Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Debut in late 1998 but hardly a regular until over 1yr later. I think one should compare his stats with the ones of the so called players that some think outclassed him such as Keane and Vieira and I think he probably has more goals and assists than the two put together.
surf Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 He only really started scoring loads of goals when Rafa came and changed his game. 98/99: 12 games (0 goals)99/00: 31 (1)00/01: 50 (10)01/02: 30 (4)02/03: 55 (7)03/04: 47 (7)04/05: 56 (13)05/06: 52 (22)06/07: 55 (14)07/08: 49 (20) Fair enough, thought he'd be on about 10 in the league and 5 in the cups or so a season. Guess the last few years stick in mind more than earlier years. Don't know if it's due to Rafa giving him more of a free role or if Stevie has developed his goalscoring naturally, but the stick Gerrard in the centre debate is cleary rubbish. Rafa is getting the most out of Stevie.
Maldini Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Rafa said in his first year here that Stevie needed to learn when and where to run. He was trying to do everything, get on the ball at all times, but sometimes you're better off drifting out of the game for a minute or two to find space.

He was trying to do everything, get on the ball at all times, but sometimes you're better off drifting out of the game for a minute or two to find space. He is a much more effective player now when he plays off Torres than he was in 2003-4 season when he was paired with Hamann and basically tried to be a one-man team.
Herbie von Smalls Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 i'll bet an official dvd will be released within 72 hours of his next goal. working title: 'a ton of stevie g!!!'
