i think Torres would do well with Heskey in certain games...wether you like it or not, he causes defences problems due to his strength and size and takes defenders out, that would mean space for the likes of Torres and Keane

not in every game, but he would do a job

i dont think it would happen tho

cliche city

Ian Rush? and before anyone says i am comparing Rush to Heskey, f*** off...

game of opinions Dave. There are no easy games in the premiership for big Emile to play in, Kev may be over the moon with the signing but I would be as sick as a parrot, would it make us stronger on paper, maybe. and with 7 subs there will be alot of games that turn out to be a game of 2 halves so he might be useful to have on the bench. too many options might leave our forward lin at sixes and sevens. I doubt he will come back but footballs a funny old game.

Kuyt proved beyond all measure of doubt yesterday that if he has a future here it should be upfront. So with Torres, Keane and Kuyt we would have more than enough there

And i still wake up screaming in terror when thinking about Emile's last 2 years at the club

nah, not for me. never go back.

At his best he's better than Crouch, Kuyt...Diouf.

But we have good young prospects and buying Heskey back would only confuse matters.

Rafa brought back Fowler and tried to bring back Owen. If he signed Emile then Stan Collymore should seriously think about getting back to the gym just in case

Not for me. Not a good move for either. He should be looking at playing every week and taking his second chance at international football. We should be looking to bring on our young generation of forwards as back up to the senior players, of which we have plenty, not bringing another in who'll maybe start one game in five, scoring at the same rate.

Heskey is one of those "could have, should have but never were" players that crop up every now and then. He's got the talent but never had the belief. Maybe that's starting to grow but I'd prefer to see the younger players being brought through.

True. For every disk-spinning goal there was a biting-a-wasp-off-a-piss-stained-nettle performance

Heskey was never a bad player. He has fantastic attributes, but unfortunately he doesn't have the belief or heart, to perform consistently enough.

If he was genuinely cheap, £3m or under, then he'd be a great buy. There's no doubt that without Crouch we lack a certain kind of option.

Yep we definitely have a hole in the current squad. We need players who fall down a lot more.

the myth surrounding Emile at our place is staggering, he wasnt anywhere as bad as some like to make out

in fact in the treble winning season his name was sung so much it was bordering in boring

i remember at the Porto game at Anfield counting it in the second half and gave up at about 14!!
