2 players who get a fair bit of stick had arguably their best games for Liverpool today. Both were really bright and always looking to get forward and supprt each other.

Benayoun particularly impressed me, constantly driving forward and as Rafa likes "keeping a good tempo" to the game. If he can maintain that then we have real competition for the attacking midfield positions with Babel looking sharp as well.

Chuffed to bits with that match today.

I though Yossi was still doing his thing of taking one or two touches too many, as was Kuyt, but definitely improved after half time to play his best stuff of the season so far 2nd half.

Arbeloa was pretty good. 2nd half Benayoun was improved. Everyone did their job, don't think there were any stand-out performers today.

i have just watched it after getting back

i thought there were two

Riera, considering it was his debut it thought he was great, bought into our team ethic

and the monster

I wasn't meaning to run anyone down. What I saw today made me more proud of our side than for a long time. We out fought them all over the pitch and we haven't done that against them, successfully, for a long time. Mascherano did well, as did Riera, but nobody was spectacularly good. We won that through graft and desire IMO. Made the mancs feel scared to keep the ball and unable to pass it around.

They usually play without fear and today we had them running scared.

I like the look of Riera, think we have more to come from him.

i get really annoyed watching yossi, he has some quailty but i just dont think he's good enough. He's weak, poor decision making and constantly trying to go past 1 to many players. Out of the 4 (yossi, kuyt, riera and babel) he would be my 4th choice.

Its a shame for arbeloa because i think he's not played to bad this season, considering some of the crap he's had supporting in front of him.

slightly of the yossi and arbeloa topic, i would say some of our players really need to work on their first touch, babel and kuyt for a start. i find it really hard to work out how their touch can be so bad at times!

Why are people obsessed with how good a first touch is!

Yossi had an excellent game today, Kuyt was excellent and Arbeloa continued from where he left off against villa

because a poor first touch or touch in general shows ignorance and a player has overlooked this aspect of his game (i am talking from experience, and have been given advice in the past from coaches before you have a go).

a poor touch also costs chances, time, and will allow you to get caught in possesion - you'd rip the crap out of a player if this happened to be a costly. opposition players/coaches will also clock on to the fact you touch is poor and you'll be pressed quicker. etc etc etc the list goes on.

admitedly the lads had a good game today, it was a big win and i like everyone else is over the moon! but that doesnt mean to say that every aspect of the game was perfect, Rafa is a perfectionist and he will be looking over where improvements can be made, but thats one thing i noticed, not just today either.

just cos we beat the mancs doesnt mean the seasons over, theres still a long way to go yet. will just be funny if/when we have a bad partch and everyone starts to slate rafa and the players.

but for now enjoy!

Yossi was sh**e today, he`s too weak, was never in the right place today, what really pi**ed me off was he bottled out of 2

challenges today. The 2 full backs where superb strong & committed. Oh I was there so seen at first hand.

None of our players deserves less than a 7/10. Yossi & Derek (Arbeloa too) - the usual hit men all did well.

Xabi had a great game I thought - well, 2nd half. Masch was his usual stormer; Pepe had nowt to do & made a blinding save.

The best of all was the ref though. 2 straight reds = 2 yellows in his book. And even then he won't send them off unless he's harangued. c***.

Bur I shall not dwell on such matters. We battered them today. They were lucky to come away with 2-1 & their defence doesn't look like it trusts VdS anymore

no, you are the w*****.

the w***** that comes on here looking for a downside on a performance where we have completley outplayed the champions of europe. Do you really think we did that carrying someone? he isnt a strong tackler, but he went in for some challeneges that i ddint think he would

he worked hard, and played his part

some people are never f***ing happy

Best thing Benny did today was taking Carrick out. That destroyed Uniteds midfield and we started to boss the game.

Overall a very, very good performance from everybody today.

'bout time we took the game to the Sc*m.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

I don't think Carrick would've made much difference anyway, cos after their goal the monster just took the game by the scruff of the neck and showed united how to control a midfield.

Do me a favour. You are just wrong. Yossi was did well today. Great movement at times. Didn't quite finish things off but he was far from s***.

On the tackling thing I'd normally agree but he was the one that nailed Carrick in a tackle.

Here Redden, you may be entitled to your opinion and all that, but face up to it, as far as the general consensus seems to indicate, you couldn't be more wrong.

Maybe we should just accept that the entire team played as they should, as a team, grafting it out for everyone else on the pitch and taking the game to; an admittedly below par; very hard side to beat.

Thought Arbeloa played really well today. Surprised me as I'm one of his critics. Hopefully he can win me round! You know what you're getting with Benayoun, a technically gifted but less good Arsenal midfielder that can produce magic, but can also give alot of frustration.
