anny road Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Rchard Dunne at a wedding of a certain Burnley Left back there were a few players present, Nicky Weaver, SWP, Michah Richard, Ben Thatcher Weirdly Nicolas Anelka wasnt! Anyway, two of the guests were real good fun, Dunne and (!) Thatcher, who is a really nice guy talkign to Dunne about Torres, and he was saying how good he was, and that his speed of thought is the quickest of any in the league...I then had a little dig at Dunney about his tratment of Torres at Eastlands last season, and he was quality... I said he was out of order and should have had two red cards....He replied "What the f*** do you want me to do? let him run past me and score? if he runs past me, I am gonna kick him or pull him back..Yes I should have had a red card but i didnt so....Look what happened at Anfield!" he was a really nice bloke, admitted that his drinking was really bad...I asked him how bad it was, out of 10...10 being Paul Gascoigne....0 being Mother Teresa..his reply was 14...said Keegan didnt have a clue and he used to go into training pissed. Seemed very genuine and talked solemnly about this...Said he still has a drink issue but is beating his demons. At that point ...(june) he didnt know wether he was staying at City...Called Anelka a c***, and said he has no time for Keegan... He was complimentary about us, despite his everton links...says he loves playing at Anfield "a proper football ground, with passionate supporters" talked about Carragher being a legend and great bloke Ben Thatcher was funny....full of it...but dead nice, my mate gave him some jip about Mendes...and he said "well he shouldnt get in my f***ing way" and winked....he is a nice bloke
Cunny Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 did you ask Thatcher about the motorway services meeting with Houllier?
anny road Posted September 12, 2008 Author Posted September 12, 2008 did you ask Thatcher about the motorway services meeting with Houllier? i asked him about his almost joining us, and he just brushed it off...tbh he wasnt up for talking footy, he was more interested in getting w*****ed and chatting birds up as his wife wasnt there
Hassony Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Ben Thatcher was funny....full of it...but dead nice, my mate gave him some jip about Mendes...and he said "well he shouldnt get in my f***ing way" and winked....he is a nice bloke except he isn't
anny road Posted September 12, 2008 Author Posted September 12, 2008 except he isn't he is a really really nice bloke, dead funny, really friendly
Hassony Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 he is a really really nice bloke, dead funny, really friendly Thats what Harry Redknapp also said after his GBH on mendes, him nearly killing another player on the pitch and showing no remorse at the time indicate to me that he is a c*** (probably the effect of playing for wimbeldon)
D.Boon Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 I like Dunne. He is a very good centre half.
muleskinner Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 (edited) Ben Thatcher should have got a 12 match ban at least for what he did to Mendes, it was horrific. Edited September 12, 2008 by muleskinner
The Hitman Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Dunne's a great player,one of the top centre-halves in the league.Very underrated.
Coyler Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Maybe Thatcher had seen Mendes laughing with some Portuguese people before the match. Fair play to Dunne about the booze.
Cobs Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Ben Thatcher should have got a 12 match ban at least for what he did to Mendes, it was horrific.as oppose to the 14 games he actually got banned for ?
anny road Posted September 12, 2008 Author Posted September 12, 2008 are you incapable of actually reading what I said? i have met him, and he is a really nice bloke....fact.......i was talking to Dunne about it, as his reputation is bad he said that Thatcher on the pitch and off the pitch are different people. He is a c*** on a football field, but really nice off it.....
