CarraLegend Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Shame if true but if we have to do it then we have to do it.
Spion kop Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 treated like a dogbit of an overreaction that. He knew he wasn't going to play consistantly and there is a second stage registration.
DaveLFC Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 We have Carra, Agger and Skrtel. I think we're covered for the CL. Hyypia only got a lot of games last season because of the injury to Agger and because Skrtel was new. I think we'll be ok. Although Hyypia did a brilliant job last season.
Hassony Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 bit of an overreaction that. He knew he wasn't going to play consistantly and there is a second stage registration. I wasn't being entirely serious
_00_deathscar Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 There's more than 8 players trained by a club in England though? Gerrard and Carra already make up 2 of the 4 required to have been trained by the club anyway.
Sion Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Don't understand thisAll it would take is an injury to one of the other 3 CB's, and we've got absolutely no cover.

Sion Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) Apart from Arbeloa. His ability at full back is questionable as it is, nevermind at CB Edited September 5, 2008 by Sion

CarraLegend Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Newcastle supporters would stand up to this s****! We just bend over and take it. Rafa, Rafa, Rafa, OUT! OUT! OUT! Shoes off if you love Sami! Carragher and Skrtel should be subject of a boo-athon when they have the ball against the filth. We've got to show our support for Sami.

Rafa shows once again that he is a bad man manager and evil human being the way he has treated Finnan, Pennant, Voronin and now Hyypia is outrageous Jose would have played them all in his team

We've been kept in the dark about Sami again"
Rory Fitzgerald Posted September 5, 2008 Author Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) On a serious note. I would have left out Degen given that Carra and Arbeloa can play RB. If 1 of our 3 CB's are injured/suspended, I'd prefer Hyypia as cover to Arbeloa. If another went down injured I would not fancy a back 4 that included Degen, Arebloa and Dossena* *Just doesnt have the robustness of a back line with Carra at RB and Sami in the middle Edited September 5, 2008 by Rory Fitzgerald
John am Rhein Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Irwin and Hansen are in. Ageing center-back partnership, that

Maldini Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 The way things worked out we were always going to have to leave out a first team squad member, I guess we're better stocked at CB than in other areas so Sami misses out. It could just be a f*** up from the UEFA site though. This wouldn't have happened if we'd gotten Barry. Irwin would have been on the B list, but we've had to include him in the full squad because we didn't have the full 8.

Just takes an injury and a suspension and we'll be looking vulnerable at centre half, instead of plugging the gap with the ever reliable Sami Hyypia. He showed last season how valuable he is in the Champions league with his aerial presence, cool head and experience. Often comes up with a vital goal too - as he did against Arsenal last year. Hmmm...
