A terrific servant to this club, a natural footballer, never a natural athlete and could be one of the last of his type to play at the level he did.

 

The man always had class and this move is brilliant for him. Won all he’s won and now gets to sample a new footballing culture and a new country. Hope he does well out there and maybe gets one last bit of silverware. Steve Finnan - a fullback’s fullback.

Sorry to see him go - consummate professional and a paragon of composure, his one failing was a lack of athleticism in a league becoming increasingly overrun by the steroidal masses. But always considered him one of the best, nevertheless. Wish him success and no regrets.
