Gunga Din Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 might be good news that in the long term. it might force those two muppets to sell the club to someone who has the money to build it.
Swipe Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 (edited) might be good news that in the long term. it might force those two muppets to sell the club to someone who has the money to build it. Agree. Still another embarrassing episode in the Gillete and Hicks farce-fest, though Edited August 28, 2008 by Swipe
Hassony Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Is it a coincidence that it will be announced after the transfer dead line passes?
CarraLegend Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 No doubt it'll be announced a day before the Utd game or something.
Boca Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 If they cancel the new stadium then surely there is no way they can stay on. Could be the catalyst to get them out.
Falconhoof Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 That would have to be the final nail in the coffin for anyone who was willing to give H&G the slightest benefit of doubt.
Cobs Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 If they cancel the new stadium then surely there is no way they can stay on. Could be the catalyst to get them out. or all part of the process
fyds Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 might be good news that in the long term. it might force those two muppets to sell the club to someone who has the money to build it.I thought DIC's 'we're only interested in buying Liverpool' re the Citeh claims the other day was quietly significant in just that order. I've suspected for some time that the reason it's all gone so quiet both here and in the US about the ownership is that there is some serious talking going on somewhere. Fingers crossed.

Could be the catalyst to get them out.If they cancel the stadium then I can't see them being able to stay as their business plan is predicated on building a high volume stadium - don't forget - at least £60m of their refinanced package was expressly for this and can't be used for anything else.
Bailo Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 or all part of the processThey've lied about everything to do with building the stadium, what's to say they never intended to build it?
matty Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 It's like there's a whole load of stuff going on that nobody really knows anything about. Amazing!
matty Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 f*** me is that you?! Blessed are those who have not seen, and yet believe.
Cunny Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 So, Moores sold cos he couldn't afford to build a stadium and raise a transfer kitty to allow us to compete on the pitch. The only difference with the new owners is that we have far more debt.We really are laughing stock. Moores and Parry should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

Moores and Parry should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.A bit simplistic that - firstly, at the time they will have been advised by both banks and their financial advisors that the plan was materially sound, and business is done this way all over the world. Secondly - the credit and economic crunches have hit Hicks in particular and the attitude ofn lending institutions far more than their spin would ever admit. No credit crunch - they would probably have gotten away with it.
MFletcher Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Is this speculation or is there something concrete? Either way, surely they'd be royally f***ed as their entire business plan hinges on building the stadium?
Chili Palmer Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 No credit crunch - they would probably have gotten away with it. that pesky credit crunch
Paul_LFC Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Doesn't surprise me at all. How many starts and stops have happened now? What will the next plan be... go back ten years and knock down the Main Stand and make it into a super dooper ten tier spectacular with bunkers for corporates?
CarraLegend Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 A bit simplistic that It isn't, he's right. Parry and Moores have f***ed us over for their own greed, its that simple.
