is Rafa should never wear that tie again.

Yeah. He should wear a leather studded tie that he can start hitting his players with but only after he has given himself a good over with it first.

Aurelio is better than Dossena.

Kuyt should only play as a striker.

Reira is needed.

Babel may be more effective RM.

Benayoun is s**** at left wing.

he was inept on saturday, and he gets picked in the same position and is inept again. i blame the manager for that.

benayoun is an average player, but out wide on the left he is a weakling, twisty turny liability.

kuyt wide on the right is not a weakling, but is almost as bad.

funny that kuyt ends up playing up front when keane comes off everytime. its not a ringing endorsement of our transfer policy.

1. I like Aurelio but I will reserve judegement on Dossena and give hm fair judgement

2. Then I hope he doesnt get many chances

3. You'd take the Elephant Man aswell if he was offered as a left winger

4. Disagree, his peg is for shooting not crossing, he will always choose the inside option rather than than the outside

Kuyt did a Riise tonight. Scores the odd important goal to paper over the cracks and keep his place in the team. Yeah Rafa says it is good that he never stops running for the team, but everything else he does is shocking. To be fair, he looked much better in the central role but he just isn't good enough.

Benayoun is quality in the center, at Liverpool though, he will have to settle for cutting in from the wing which ties in with Rafa's 4-2-flexible 3-1

Unfortunately we seem rigid in the past 4 games

y'all shudda listened to me at the start of the transfer window...kuyt, benayoun aint gud enough and we shud have been looking to flog the pair of them while they have some kind of reputation...

Its not about Kuyt himself being a bad player. Kuyt and Benayoun as a pair narrow down our play as neither is a winger. The fullbacks should ideally provide the sufficient width in that case but we're lacking there as well. (discounting Dossena). Atleast 2 out of these 4 players (2 wingers, 2 fullbacks) should provide an attacking impetus but unfortunately only Babel and arguably Dossena has the ability to do that.

To be fair to Rafa, he has tried to address that problem by buying Degen and Dossena. We'll just have to wait and see over the season if that has worked or not.

But Kuyt and Benayoun should never be our wingers unless Degen or Dossena is playing OR we're playing one of the top 4 where ball retention is a must.

Say you what you will about kuyt as much of it is deserved, but he always seems to pop up with the odd goal when none of our usuals look like scoring. The problem with him as a striker is he is too generous, whether it be from lack of confidence in himself or admiration of torres game that he always tries that extra pass instead of having a go at it himself. He needs more confidence or even arrogance to develop in that position.

Think it's unfair to call him a riise, sure he doesn't look like helping us win much but at the same time he has yet to help us lose either. Same thing can't be said about the ginger one and I was a supporter of him when he was here. Riise had the athletic ability (minus that lack of a right foot of course) but not the mental capacity to use it correctly. Kuyt simply doesn't have the athletic talent required of a winger, but he works hard and has a good enough footballing brain to do a job there until Rafa can purchase his replacement and move him to a 3rd option as a striker. (4th if Ngog comes good quickly.)

we can't play 4-4-2 against anybody. it negates our good points, we don't have the players to play it and we're too flat, narrow and easy to play against with it. sort it out rafa.

At what point are people going to question the fact that after years in charge and spending millions we have a team that has no width, no movement to speak of, constantly hoofs the ball and cannot string two passes together. These aren't observations from the past 4 games but have been made by posters here for more than a year now. The blame lies squarely with Rafa and not with Kuyt or any other player. There is a systematic problem here and Rafa needs to sort it out. Unfortunately I've come to the point where I don't believe he is capable of it anymore. There I've said it.

sack the manager two games into the league season. let the owners choose his replacement, i believe bryan robson is available. it's the only way forward.
