I do prefer the midfield selection in this one, but the Reira transfer is looking more likely at the moment.

I'd put Riena in goal and Reira on the left wing.

Other than that Bebal should play wide right and Kaene through the middle behind Terros.

That looks good to me, you can debate the merits of having Keane or Gerrard in the centre, but otherwise spot on. And Riera and Kuyt are decent options too.

 

It's almost worth swallowing the fairly bitter pill of Alonso to Arsenal for.

That's end up looking like 4-4-2 with Gerrard doing the "graveyard shift" at RM.

Since we haven't bought Barry (yet?) I'd put Lucas in instead of Barry. Then the only weak point in the team would be Arbeloa (IMO).

 

That team should be able to challenge for the title.

Players can be picked up and placed next to the ball then - a key tactical consideration. Each player has his own private area of the pitch so no need to worry about whether they need more time on the ball - so pick Alonso and Benayoun

I think Lucas will turn really good this year. And Alonso, although being a great midfielder, tends to lose possession of the ball too often in dangerous areas.

 

I just think Lucas will be a better fit for a more fast passing game while Alonso is better if we need to move the ball quickly out to the flanks.

 

Just a tactical preference.
