The Hitman Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 And for anybody interested,I believe Boycott is signing copies of his new book the day afterwards. So that's nobody then.... I was going to nip in to see Rushie, but unfortunately I'm not about.Do you guys live near Canary?
gkmacca Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I was surprised by the story that we sold Rushie to Juventus a year earlier than it was announced and kept him for that season on loan from them.

gkmacca Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Hardly an unknown story really... Well, it was to me. Where was it announced at the time?
Frosty Jack Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I'd love to hear his account of life at Juventus: "it's like playing in a foreign country or something"
Mike Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I'd love to hear his account of life at Juventus: "it's like playing in a foreign country or something"urban myth dude
cymrococh Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Hardly an unknown story really...That's the first time I've heard it.
jimmylibel Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 That's the first time I've heard it. Same here. Although the big Italian clubs used to do that type of thing quite regularly. They'd be planning their teams and signings two or three seasons ahead of time.
jimmylibel Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Been in this story for a few years... Who reads that though Will
Bailo Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 It was before I can remember, but what was the reasoning behind selling Rushie to Juve? Did we need the cash, did he want to test himself abroad?
kop205 Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 He wanted to go, if I remember correctly there had been a link with Roma a couple of years prior to that. I always thought that when he went to Juventus there was an element of maybe building bridges after Heysel.
Hassony Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Was Rush accepted by all Juvi supporters or were there section who didn't want a liverpool player there?
