I hate playing these, not really based on anything they do at Anfield, probably more that they often get a result at a big teams ground each season and we're f***ing rubbish at the Riverside. They're just a pain in the a*** to play.

Let's destroy these and send their incest ridden away end home sick with embarassment.

It's the ultimate irony isn't it? Has you standing there with amazement that they have the nerve to sing it.

when middlesbrough signed ravanelli and they had to give him the traditional tour of the city to see if he liked it, they did it at night so the poor c*** couldn't see what a s***hole it is.

Rafa needs to play both Agger and Skrtel if they are fit so they can regain match fitness. Agger played in friendly against Spain so he should be fine. Reason for playing both of them is our next away PL game against Villa where we will be dealing with pace of Agbonhalor and Young. We can't afford to go into that game with Hypia and Carra as our central defenders.

And against Middlesbrough, i just hope we don't start with both Kyut and Benayoun as Liverpool looks like one man short than opposition's with both of them on pitch at same time.

saw their game against spurs last week and they were fairly impressive, dont think this will be an easy game at all.an early goal and we'll be fine, pepper their keeper with shots because he looks seriously dodgy

Need to get close to Tuncay and Downing. Alves will score if given a chance (although he missed a few last week). He's the new Jardel.

By the way, in case anyone else was wondering, Setanta Sports in Ireland showing the match live.

agree about downing and tuncay, boro suddenly seem to have something of an attacking threat about them now that alves is fit.

and cheers jim, do you know who is showing it in thailand out of interest?

Will Lucas be available for this game?

Doubt it. While he may be suspended for the Bronze medal match, the presentation ceremony is tomorrow after the final. If Brasil win bronze, he will be at the ceremony I assume - either because - he wants to be / requested by the coaches / demanded by the olympic officials.

Hyypia out with a hamstring injury but Degen back in contention:

Sami Hyypia will miss the first home game of the season this weekend with a hamstring injury.

The centre-back is Rafa Benitez's only fitness worry for the visit of Middlesbrough on Saturday, with the likes of Martin Skrtel and Philipp Degen now back in contention after injury.

We'll have more pre-match news as the afternoon progresses, with Benitez currently giving his weekly press briefing at Melwood.

Lawro, having predicted a draw last week, reckons we'll win this one

Liverpool v Middlesbrough

Liverpool did not play that well at Sunderland but managed to win the game and that is a good sign for them.

Rafael Benitez's team look short in terms of fitness and down the left.

Boro had a good start, beating Tottenham, they have options up front and the look of a team playing with growing belief.

However, I don't think they will win at Anfield.

Verdict: 2-1

"Rafael Benitez's team look short in terms of fitness"

Aye, that must be why we got stronger and stronger as the Sunderland game went on and got our winner after 80 odd minutes.
