scoose Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 will be in dublin next wednesday with a couple of mates any ideas where is good to watch the footy?
Hector McDougal Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 The lotts bar on liffey st, just north of the ha'penny bridge. Small pub but good atmosphere with sound reds in it.
Maldini Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 That's a good spot alright, pretty much everywhere will have it on, so you'll be spoilt for choice.

sean Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 The George is but a stones throw from the Morrisson. VERY FRIENDLY place.

jimmylibel Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Lotts is perfect for you so mate. It's on Liffey Street which is practically just around the corner from you. Take a look here - Link

Was gutted when realised the trip clashed with the game but then realised it wont count towards loyalty for champions league anyway if we qualify so everything is dandy-o again now ;-)

Smith Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 (edited) When I moved to Dublin back in 97, the lads at work told me to meet up for a drink at the George. Haha, feckers. Edited August 22, 2008 by Smith

Hector McDougal Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 The Lotts bar is quite small and can be standing room only for big matches. Can be good atmosphere though which compensates for standing though. I was in there for all of the Champs league matches over the last few years and it's usually been a great laugh. They do have a much larger lounge section but the commentary is turned down in there so it's no craic. Nearby alternatives would be Fitzsimons/the quays in temple bar as MickeyDocs says but they're both touristy dumps in my view. T.P. Smiths on Jervis st is just opposite the Morrison hotel and will have the match on with commentary. Big pub so you won't have a problem getting a seat in it.
Maldini Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 (edited) There's a big room at the back of The Lotts, it's like two separate bars Edited August 22, 2008 by Maldini

Maldini Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Yeah, a guy plays a piano up on an elevated mezzanine
