Guest Raisbeck Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N...080821-1237.htm What a bizarre thing to print on the offical website.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 1 year ago it would have been bizarre, now its just run of the mill.

There has been a real shift in the type of press releases and articles that come out of the club these days. Why the club feels the need to respond to every single article and rumour in the press I dont know.
Guest Raisbeck Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Barret has a more in depth look at it http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-f...00252-21579182/ Parry not to blame for Barry deal Parry like Alonso Rafa wanted Abou Diaby
fabfive Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 (edited) RB: Rick we really need to clear the air. RP: Sorry Rafa I had beans last night. RB: Well then it's clear no? No more beans the day before meetings. RP: Settled then. Nice we had this chat. Edited August 21, 2008 by fabfive
bazz Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 This is just embarassing and its like we have turned into Newcastle. They both should be ashamed as releasing statements like this.
Anfield Fox Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I remember when Rafa came to the club Parry said that perhaps he had been too close to Ged and he needed to take a step back in the case of Rafa. Perhaps he took too many steps back because this is ridiculous. The man just does not want to leave the club, clinging like a leech for dear life. No one but Gillet wants him here anymore.
Mike Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 shows how fragile things are. this is a message for the owners and players if you ask me.

anfield Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Parry is now heading over to Georgia to mediate the Russian withdrawal....

Hopefully it's the Rafa and Parry are staying, and the owners will be gone. Frankly, I don't mind if Parry stays in some capacity. It wasn't him that sold us down the river to the Yanks. I have it on good authority that it was Moores' decision entirely, and he went for the extra cash. The Parry bonus would have been paid regardless of the buyer, and like I said, I'm told by those in the know that it was 100% Moores' decision. In fairness to Moores, the price was still way too cheap, but given the two choices he made a right clanger by not going with Sheikh Mo ... as we all know.

And if anything, I think Rafa is coming across more like an ass in all this. Rafa claimed Barry was worth 15million max. He also said Alonso was worth 16 million at least and he wouldn't sell Alonso "cheap" (this was at the start of the summer, not just the late, revised comments). He can't just have it everyway he wants. Last summer when we failed to get in Heinze, it seemed there was no plan B, even though it was obvious to almost everyone getting Heinze was going to be highly problematic. This summer, as the Barry thing rolled on and, again, obviously was becoming problematic, we also are seeing no evidence of a plan B. Rafa can be a real stubborn git at times (though I think it is also likely Hicks is playing him against Gillett from the sounds of that Barrett article, and then leaving Parry to take the brunt of all the blame).

Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 This just in: Parry and Benitez hold hands

Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Its not funny. The joke's been done to death.

Guest Silkky Skillz Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Is there anyone else who thinks that maybe, just maybe Rafa is a bit too stubborn at times?
