anny road Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 i mean there is f*** all else to watch apart from rah rah's f***ing about on bikes and in boats the reaction of Xabi after the shiot from inside his own half...he berates himself...the c*** expects to score!! Thats class the reaction of Torres after he scored....after the big bloke hugs him, head down....no facial reaction, a steely determination as if to say "yep, business as usual then".... and the goals..the back of the net raises up when the ball hits it.......i can see one of those where the ball goes in and sneaks out and the ref gives a goal kick

They're backing off Fernando Torres. You DO NOT BACK OFF FERNANDO TORRES. That's what their fans were saying in the boozer to be fair.
Ronnie Whelan Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Probably mentioned elsewhere but i was surprised by the starting cb pairing.
anny road Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Probably mentioned elsewhere but i was surprised by the starting cb pairing. i was at the game but in hindsight, Skrtel has only just started training again and Agger needs to be treated softly softly so really it was an obvious decision
oakie bob Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 the reaction of Xabi after the shiot from inside his own half...he berates himself...the c*** expects to score!! Thats class shouted at gordon you where lucky there lad, he blew his cheeks out and agreed the reaction of Torres after he scored....after the big bloke hugs him, head down....no facial reaction, a steely determination as if to say "yep, business as usual then"....the steward was really pissed off when we wouldnt let him get the lad to be thrown out
Chili Palmer Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 plus I loved the glare Torres gave Keane when he blocked his shot, just for a split second it was 'you dick' then it was quickly back to the high fives and encouraging each other.
anny road Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 well you didnt do a good enough job, he was being mand handled out a few seconds later
Stevie H Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 plus I loved the glare Torres gave Keane when he blocked his shot, just for a split second it was 'you dick' then it was quickly back to the high fives and encouraging each other.ayeh. 'you're playing for liverpool now you dopey get'.
Hassony Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Torres's reaction when the game finished was good as well, you can tell that he really enjoys a tough battle with defenders (the anti Robben) and loves to answer them in the best possible way
oakie bob Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 well you didnt do a good enough job, he was being mand handled out a few seconds later nope they steward took another lad

Mike Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 ayeh. 'you're playing for liverpool now you dopey get'. i thought it was more, 'im fernando torres, you don't chase the same ball as me fool' and to be fair to keane, he looked mortified that he did.
johngibo YPC Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 i was at the game but in hindsight, Skrtel has only just started training again and Agger needs to be treated softly softly so really it was an obvious decision Yeah was suprised at the time, but after a couple of early jitters Sami played really well
Ronnie Whelan Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 i was at the game but in hindsight, Skrtel has only just started training again and Agger needs to be treated softly softly so really it was an obvious decision I meant that my point on the CB pairing as mentioned elsewhere. I knew Skrtl was not going to be starting but judging on Aggers pre-season form I expected to see him.
Hassony Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 I had Hyypia and Carra starting in my fantasy rafa so I wasn't surprised

Ronnie Whelan Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 did you miss the leige game? One game out of a good pre season.
sutty Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 did you miss the leige game? I thought Agger grew into that game Sami in for the set piece factor on Saturday. Doubt you'll see him play at home much tbh
DJS Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 After scoring the goal, Torres was a man possessed. Full of motivation, drive and hunger. Chased everything. Amazing what difference a goal makes.
Mad Scientist Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 One think I noticed, given that it was an away game - Dossena was up the other end of the pitch much more often than I remember seeing either of our full backs during away matches last season.
Hassony Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 After scoring the goal, Torres was a man possessed. Full of motivation, drive and hunger. Chased everything. Amazing what difference a goal makes. He also seems to enjoy playing on his own a lot more than with a partner
DJS Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 He also seems to enjoy playing on his own a lot more than with a partner I think i enjoy it more when he's up front on his own too. I hope Keane proves me wrong, but it seems like we've thrown £20m at a signing we really didnt need.

I hope Keane proves me wrong, but it seems like we've thrown £20m at a signing we really didnt need. we don't really have the players to play 4 3 2 1 at the minute with Masch, Babel and Lucas away, wen they come back I think we will see Keane drop back and interchange with Gerrard and Babel, leaving Torres up front. I think that looks good, especially against most of the dross in the league, europe and against the other top teams may be different. I think we will need Keane over the season.
