Tobes Rafa Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I bought an old house a year ago and it was feckign freezing last winter. There are a lot of areas I need to improve before this one kicks in eg. loft insulation, more efficient radiators etc. Do you have any tips on ways you have improved your own place? I have been recommened 3" Kingspan insulating boards for the roof in the eaves but I have just priced it and it is fecking expensive! I need to replace all the radiators and add thermostats. I'm going to put foil reflectors behind each one as apparently that is a good way of reflecting heat into the room. I don't have blinds, just curtains - would putting blinds up make much of a difference? (I have bullet proof windows and someone told me these are woeful for keeping in heat) Any other tips or tricks to save fuel and money over the winter. As I said in the thread title, sorry for the boring thread but it is pretty relevant in this day and age.
