Flasher Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 We've signed Skrtel, Torres, Mascherano, Keane to name 4. We may still get Barry, Genuinely, has this changed how anybody feels about our owners?
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 looking at this summer alone, the vast majority of what's been spent has been recouped in sales, so as far as transfer funding goes, we're no better off than we were under the old regime
JimmyF Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 No. They've lied, lied and lied againWhat are they going to do next year when we wont have all these cast offs that can raise £20M, try to flog the pony tailed one for £15M?
David Hodgson Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 We've signed Skrtel, Torres, Mascherano, Keane to name 4. We may still get Barry, Genuinely, has this changed how anybody feels about our owners? No. You'd have to be intellectually sub-normal to think the signing of Keane in any way sheds G & H in a better light. Let's pose this question when we get through a summer with a net spend of £40m+. At the moment we pray for a minimum summer investment from our board of the £20-25m we used to get from Moores. For that small mercy we'd all be grateful.

honourablegeorge Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 They haven't given us a penny, the lying, cheating tossers.
Gunga Din Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 What are they going to do next year when we wont have all these cast offs that can raise £20M, try to flog the pony tailed one for £15M? there will always be players that are surplus, thats how teams evolve. you might see Alonso, if he isnt sold this summer, go next, or Babel or Kuyt, and a load of the ressies.

redned Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 We've signed Skrtel, Torres, Mascherano, Keane to name 4. We may still get Barry, Genuinely, has this changed how anybody feels about our owners? No way I absolutely detest these people, lying arrogant a*****s.
Bootle Buck Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 With last years CL money, money that we have recouped on players we have sold and the very good possibility we will once again progress in the CL this season the expenditure hasn't really been that great.Unfortunately we seem to have to off load players before we can sign new ones and that can't continue indefinately. I hope some of the youngsters we have signed can progress enough to challenge for a first team place in the future.
Chili Palmer Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 they are still c**** of the highest order, but can we knock this 'they haven't give us any money' b******s on the head. Moores never 'gave' us any money. They are always secured against the club in some way. at least use the lying, deceipt, pettyness, stubbornness, nastiness that they have shown as the stick to beat them with. all my opinion of course.
CaptainXabi Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 WE BUDGET FOR CL MONEY!!! Why that always brought up as some magical source of income.
Swipe Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 (edited) They're c****. The dealings done this summer (including ones that will hopefully be finalised ahead) are purely down to Rafa's brilliance in the market. Nowt to do with the "backing" of the owners. As has been said, we're in no better financial position than under Moores. Still hopeful the DIC will oust them at some stage in the future. Edited July 29, 2008 by Swipe
whitewidow Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Take out of the ownership context and think of another example. E.G. Joey Barton manages to go 12 months without maiming or brutalizing a colleague/member of the public/relative....is he a nice gentle lad who can be trusted and you'd ask to babysit your kids? NO - trust is a long term quality.
Hector McDougal Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I feel exactly the same about them. We won't win the league while they own the club IMO. Hope I'm wrong.
Herbie von Smalls Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 don't think this summer's transfer business alters anything. they're in charge of the club unless DIC come up with the right deal to persuade them to sell. G&H will never be universally accepted as worthy guardians of LFC, though the level of animosity may drop if we win a league title during their tenure.
Maldini Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 They are lying pricks. We'll be pissing in the wind as long as they're here. They are here to leech money from the club, nothing else.
honourablegeorge Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 They've been awfully quiet lately. Hoepfully that's a good sign.
Dmitch Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 im happy they seem to be giving some form of backing and investment but as its already been said.. how much of that is actually money from sales of players?... there still c**** and i still hate both of them. I still want them out but i think as most people have also done ive started to accept that there here to stay.
magneto Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 They're a slight improvement on Moores in terms of transfer fund investment. But I wonder how much of this money is leveraged. Anyway, they're no where near the type of owners we require at a club like ours.
