Guest PaulMcC Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 That question is far too precise Kev. What would you accept?

Guest Scot Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Premiership: FA Cup: Champions League: Carling Cup: 100% effort in each game from each player that takes the field. After that I'm good with whatever.
Asis Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Premiership: Champions FA Cup: 3rd round Champions League: Final Carling Cup: 3rd round
Koller49 Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Premiership: 3rd. If we finish 4th again something has obviously gone stale. FA Cup: 5th Round but Honestly don't care. It'd be nice to get a game at the new Wembley but not a priority. Champions League: Quarters. Bored of the Euro cup now, doesn't bother me unless theres a chance of drawing the Mancs in the semi. Carling Cup: Not being in it would be a plus if thats possible. That's the minimum for me. If we are battling for fourth again it will be a f***ing long season. And probably one to forget.
Kuyt-fever Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Anything more than 7 points behind the champions or less than 83 points is unacceptable. We must win a trophy if he's unable to win the league. 2 long years.
Guest Snorky Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Premiership: - This has to be our year, Champions or a bloody close second. FA Cup: - Sod playing the stiffs, the FA Cup is magic. Champions League: - To get to a third final in five years would be a massive achievement. Carling Cup: - Play the stiffs all the way through. I want the Prem more than any other trophy, the Mancs are far to close for comfort, I can feel their smelly s*** breath on my neck.
Senrab_nhoj Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 100% effort in each game from each player that takes the field. After that I'm good with whatever. I agree with this answer totally I hate these types of threads with a passion... its like we are saying our support is conditional... when you say minimum what do you mean if we dont reach that... sack the board, sack the managers, go support AFC whoever? Its like saying to your kids that the minimum I expect from your GCSE's is x A's..... and supporting liverpool and having watched TJ achieve and have disappointments along the way, I can see the parallels... That's not to say I don't want success or will have the blackest of moods over a weekend if we lose an early sat kick off ( I still cant erase the feeling when we lost to leeds 3-4 after being 0-2 up) and will critic the players and selection to death on here and down the pub.... Carling Cup: - Play the stiffs all the way through. You see in my eyes right now that would be a perfect season.... to be in contention for the two of the 18-5.... so to call it a minimum is like preparing to fail, but I do know how passionate you are Kev, and how much the club means to you and your kin, its just how I see it

What if we don't acheive what is 'acceptable'? What happens then?

Shanks built this club to win things, to be the best at everything, us older fans find it hard to accept anything else. First is everything.
lfc4eva99 Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Minimum Expectation : Premiership: Title Challenge which goes on till April end FA Cup : Quarters, Nemeth and co should play imo. Champions League: We should have European Nights during March and April. Carling Cup: Kids Kids Kids!

Stevie H Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Agree 100%. What if we don't acheive what is 'acceptable'? What happens then?well we'll just have to accept it brian. then sack rafa and set fire to hicks and gillett. and ban murph, naturally.
Andy @ Allerton Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 A good challenge for the league until the last weeks of the season would be good.
Tosh Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 good post sen. incidentally your name is a currency in malaysia. 100 sen = 1 ringit.in other words worthless...
Kahnee Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Premiership: People not commiting suicide when we lose a match FA Cup: See above Champions League: See above Carling Cup: See above
Cunny Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Premiership:Minimum top 4, a proper league challenge i.e. still in with a realistic chance of winning the thing in mid-April, cut the points difference from us to the wineers from 11 to 7 or less.FA Cup:we have not had a decent run in this since 2005, so I'd like a day out at Wembley.Champions League:minimum is QFsCarling Cup:use it to give some of the youngsters like Nemeth, Pacheco experience. Not too bothered part from that.
Dan Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 (edited) But isn't that all part and parcel of being a fan. Shanks built this club to win things, to be the best at everything, us older fans find it hard to accept anything else. First is everything. Very blinkered view. The game has moved on just a tad since Shankly. Its too simplistic/arrogant call it what you like to just roll out the "we're Liverpool we shold be winning everything line" these days. Falconhoof Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 We'll have a better side than last season. We have Rafa and he's supported by Sammy Lee so we have better coaching.I'm confident we'll do well, thats enough for me for now.
