Looking forward to watching the Open later this week, and having a flutter on it.

The only sport I really like to bet on is golf due to the long odds and being able to watch it with a vested interest over the course of a few days, rather than a horse race which is thrilling but over so quickly.

Golf is unpredictaable (when Tiger isn't around) and lots of these guys can win it if they have a good week, but I think Miguel Angel Jimenez is a fantastic each way bet this year at 40-1.

Having followed most of the tournaments this year he has been in extremely consistent form, in fact I'd say he's in the form of his life and seems to have improved with age. I reckon if he's going to win a major it'll be this one with no Tiger.

He won the BMW at Wentworth, and I've watched him finish top five in just about every tournament he's played in during the last couple of months including the Spanish Open, US Open and Scottish Open.

He hits the ball pretty straight off the tee and has the temperament, iron and short games to win it.

Looking at the shorter odds of players like Harrington, Furyk, Els, Singh, Mickelson and Rose, Jimenez has been in far, far better form than any of them recently, regularly outperforming them in the same tournaments.
