Just seen this clip of Morten Weighorst on another forum. He had the same as Markus and there's an 8 min vid of Weighorst's recovery here http://youtube.com/watch?v=Wnz5CTgi4GM

Having watched it, it's amazing that MB came back to play for us at all. I mean, it's almost like he had to learn his trade again let alone learning how to walk.

A f***ing legend IMO.

May sound odd to many considering the players that have worn the shirt but he's one of my favourites. I was a huge fan before he joined us and that season - well he was immense. And a free transfer.

Legend.

Loved the guy, here`s a couple of recent quotes still loves the club. He still has that dream to be our manager.

A self-confessed "massive Liverpool fan for life", Babbel keeps a close eye on developments at his former club and is convinced Rafael Benítez finally has a squad that is capable of lifting both the English Premiership and the UFA Champions League trophies this season. "This is the first season when they have had the quality to win the league and also win the Champions League," said Babbel. "They have a really good squad; not just eleven good players but 25 really good players and if they have a bit of luck with injuries, Liverpool can beat any side because they are so strong in defence, midfield and attack especially having brought in Fernando Torres, the kind of striker they've been lacking in recent years."

Anfield dream

It is clear that for Babbel all roads lead back to Anfield and should Stuttgart progress to the knockout stages there are no prizes for guessing who his preferred opponent might be. Indeed, he is already looking to the day when he might return to the club in a managerial capacity. "I would like to manage a club in Britain one day," admitted Babbel. "I love the British style of football and especially the passion of the fans at big clubs like Liverpool. Of course, it would be a dream to go back to Anfield as manager, but there's a lot of hard work to be done before that can happen."

Watch Owen's first goal in the 2001 FA Cup Final, made by Babbel's determination....wonderful player.

Aye, not many players out-muscled Tony Adams in the air.

However my favourite Babbel moment has to be his derby goal.

love Babbel

The only name I have ever had on the back of a shirt.....

...Wore it with pride in the home end at Basel away, even though it was about 3 deg below, short sleeved, and Basel are anti Bayern Munich..

A class act on and off the pitch and one of the very few Houllier signings I was actually excited about. That he managed to beat Guillain Barre syndrome and still come back to the very highest level is testament to the man's mental and physical ability.

Top man.
