honourablegeorge Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Partridge, Mellor, Kirkland.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/2641675.stm
Rich Gobey Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Actually, it's suprising how many of those players from that forcasted team are now regualr England players. Only Anton Ferinand, Dunn and Taylor aren't regular internationals and Kirkland still has an outside chance of being so.
yellow jumper Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 agree. predicting the england team in five years time isn't easy.
Cobs Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 agree. predicting the england team in five years time isn't easy.deffo Gareth Bale at left back
Gomez Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Actually, it's suprising how many of those players from that forcasted team are now regualr England players. Only Anton Ferinand, Dunn and Taylor aren't regular internationals and Kirkland still has an outside chance of being so. So 7 of them are regulars, and 5 where regulars (and young) when it was written, and as it was only a month before Rooney's debut, it was hardly a act of prophesy. In fact they only really predicted SWP.
yellow jumper Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 seems obvious with the benefit of hindsight. there's plenty of young players on the fringes of the england team right now. in five years time the keeper, most of the midfield and at least one of the strikers are a tough call.
ifanew Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 deffo Gareth Bale at left back Seeing as there wasn't a smilie.... Ahem!
Guest Prongsy Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Finnan should be right back. Criminal that he's never even got a look in for England.

No one on here uses the benefit of hindsight, all arguments are constructed using true visionary forsight!
Guy_Incognito Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I tried reading the blurb underneat the formation, but couldn't get any further than this Rio will be the team's veteran at 29, but Anton will possess the same assured approach and, let us hope, the same "funky" goalscoring celebrations

John am Rhein Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 agree. predicting the england team in five years time isn't easy. I can predict that they'll be sh*t... (no hang on, they've got Capello )
andyc Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Finnan should be right back. Criminal that he's never even got a look in for England.
Alonso Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Forwards England will have so much talent up front it will be embarrassing, and other teams may concede games before kick-off to avoid the humiliation on the pitch.
ChrisC Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Finnan should be right back. Criminal that he's never even got a look in for England. Aye its a downright injustice..... Given that he's Irish
Des Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Aye its a downright injustice..... Given that he's Irish I'm pretty sure Prongsy was joking. Jesus, I hope so.
Gerry Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Seeing as there wasn't a smilie.... Ahem! Did it really need a smilie? Good grief... And the same goes for Prongy's joke about Finnan.
Jarg Armani Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Aye its a downright injustice..... Given that he's Irish hahaha! U R Right! He is! meff.
psl Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 There was a time when everyone on here had a sense of humour and a 'smilie' wasn't required for every obviously sarcastic comment. What happened to the neighbourhood hey.
