He made the decision himself to take the fifth penalty. He wanted to be the man who won the cup for Chelsea, even though there were more capable penalty takers in the team ahead of him (Kalou for starters).

 

He'll have to live with cocking that penalty up for the rest of his career, and good enough for him. I'm fed up hearing about "Mr Indestructible" and "England captain John Terry". He'll be remembered as a bottler, and it's a small comfort from tonight.

Ever since the semi I've dared to dream of Chelsea losing and Terry being somehow to blame... but to step up with a chance to win the f***ing European Cup and slam it against the post while falling on your a***... the Gods couldn't have scripted it better.
