Wow, thats 2 big clubs missing out. 3 if you include Spurs, as this was to be, after all, their year!!!

Ajax havent qualified for the Champions League for 2 years in a row now. Anyone in the know know what went wrong there?

same as is happening in every other league in Europe. miss out on champions league, dont get as much money, players leave, cant compete in the transfer market, and therefore the same few teams keep qualifying over and over

Wow, that's a biggie. Still, they have a very aging side - maybe a year away from the CL might encourage them to rebuild or at least make serious inroads.

As well as Riise, Carra and Gerrard.

I am not yanking anything. Purely my own personal point of view but he does have a good 'in' at Liverpool.
