Guest PaulMcC Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) Did Villa make Europe? He told the club website: "You only have to look at the squad. There are a lot of young players, and the younger ones are very talented." "It's been good for me at Villa. When I came here getting into Europe was the aim and that's what we've done." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ool/7402828.stm Edited May 15, 2008 by PaulMcC
ChrisC Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 £10M is stupid money he's spot on there. At least he knows hes s****.
shanks59 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 £10M why not? he's an Englan international .. Time for Carson to realise the Leprechaun used him
Spion kop Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 I'm very happy with us not under valuing our players to get them sold. Rafa's hardball game will reap rewards, If o'neil can call 10m for barry a non offer i don't see 10m for Carson as stupid money.

Guest Kaizer Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 £10 mill for Carson would be the deal of the century.
Guest Rafa's Receding Hairline Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 £10 mill for Carson would be the deal of the century. 5 and Riise would be even better.
Guest Snorky Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Carson is not a bad keeper and £10m might be slightly OTT, £8m wouldn't be.
nyc_red Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 How much did Craig Gordon cost Sunderland? 10m for a England international...
Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Remember at the time hearing it was another £8m (£2m already paid for the loan) if Villa wanted to keep him. Fact is he's been fairly s**** this season, compared to the season he had at Charlton.

Guest Kaizer Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Conceded goals in the league:Aston Villa 07/08: 51 goals.Charlton 06/07: 60 goals.
Earl Hafler Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Conceded goals in the league:Aston Villa 07/08: 51 goals.Charlton 06/07: 60 goals. Says everything that does.
Guest Kaizer Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Says everything that does. Not at all, but it says a lot. Just like the 4-5 first matches he played for us when he got a lot of praise, but was directly at fault for at least 3 goals and looked pretty s**** to be honest. Superb stuff that.
Earl Hafler Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 You need to have a session with Derren Brown about selective memory.
Guest Kaizer Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 You need to have a session with Derren Brown about selective memory. My memory is fine thank you. From April 2005.The problem with some off the people in here is that you see what you want to see.I know Carson is only 19 years old, but do you know what I couldn`t care less!!He was out of positsion on Roberts free kick, he got his hand to it, but would easily have saved it if he had positsioned himself right!!In the same game he looked unconvincing on corners etc, and was only saved by Hyypias back at one occasion. In the England U-21 match he gave away a goal. In the Bolton match he was unconvincing from set pieces again, and once again was lucky to escape!! In tonight`s match he had one superb save, looked abit out of positsion on the goal Del Piero had wrongly dissallowed, and was horrible when he conceded the goal!!If I was talking to Carson I would polish it to keep his confidence up, but I dont think he reads to much on this board, so I wont bother. The boy has talent, I am sure about that, but this nonsens about that he should be our first choice is b******s.He is not ready, of course because he is too young, but even if you are young, you must have to take responsibility for your own mistakes!!
realtarragona Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Take away the zero and you are probably closer to his realistic valuation.

My point proven. Got any of those about Riise, Voronin or Arsenal being caught by January ? And i aint arguing with you anymore as you just drag threads into the mire. Gomez Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Take away the zero and you are probably closer to his realistic valuation. He's not good enough for us, but that doesn't make him sh*t. We have one of the best keepers in the world. Carson is probably the best English keeper at the moment. (David James might well have something to say about that, but he's a league title costing c**t who flaps at crosses and crumbles under the pressure of the very top level, so he can f*ck right off.) He can and probably will progress to make the England jersey his own outright, and his price should be put in the inflated bracket with Carrick, Hargreaves, Bent etc. We have to pay English tax, so we should charge it as well.
