Swipe Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 So, who you fancy for it? You gonna support anyone during it? I'm gonna go for Spain - for obvious reasons! But they've got the best squad on paper, and surely, surely they're gonna do something in a tournament sooner or later. Here's a list of the matches: Euro 2008 Are those times CET or British time. I finish work at 5.30, so 6,00pm kicks offs would do nicely!

France are always fun to follow in a tournament, and the Dutch have some quality players and like to attack. Hope for thir sake that RVP is fit. I doubt it however.

Would find it a bit hard to support spain with that racist tw*t in charge.
Guest Raisbeck Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Spain for me for the same reasons, and as you say on paper their squad is excellent. Portugal have got some great attacking players as well. Really looking forward to the tournament, regardless of Englands absence.
Stevie H Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 spain and holland, soft spot for croatia for the way they humiliated england. should be a damned good hype-free tournament.
Diarmuid Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Would love to see Spain win it, but I think Germany will win it.
stressederic Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 spain and holland, soft spot for croatia for the way they humiliated england. should be a damned good hype-free tournament. We'll get the reverse though. "Welcome to Switzerland versus Portugal here on the BBC. We'll be talking about Cristiano Ronaldo in just a moment but first, what would the effect on this game be if England had qualified, Alan?"

"so gavin, where exactly did england go wrong in qualifying?".

libero Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 RefereesAl Murray is refereeing a few of the games as well, should be a hoot.

psl Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 6 and 8.45 would be better. Still, really looking forward to this. Come on Spain!
Dee Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 6 and 8.45 would be better. Still, really looking forward to this. Come on Spain!yeah kinda - but as it stands it's not so bad. Footie - dinner - footie I'm going for Spain too! Do we have a list of potential 'stars' of the tournament? Top goal-scorer?
Hassony Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I've told my wife that yesterday was the end of the football season, I am wondering now how do I break out the news about Euro 2008

Is Van Nistelroy still out of favour with the Dutch?
yellow jumper Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Hard to look far beyond Torres for top scorer. Is Van Nistelroy still out of favour with the Dutch? horseface is back in tow. would love to see spain win, but their central defence still worries me.
Hassony Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 C Ronaldo might be a decent bet for the top scorer, as are Klose, Luca Toni, Baros!!
Gooner Spy Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 horseface is back in tow. would love to see spain win, but their central defence still worries me. I wonder if the French get their act together could Benzema be an outside shout for Golden Boot?
Swipe Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 Nowt better that a big tournament when it's sunny, watching the games in a beer garden! Really looking forward to it. Will be a relief to not have to deal with all the England hype. Who's the favourites? Wonder if we'll have any mental games like that Portugal v Holland game at the last World Cup!

Will be a relief to not have to deal with all the England hype. Who's the favourites? Wonder if we'll have any mental games like that Portugal v Holland game at the last World Cup! I was at that game and was really knackered because I didn't get any sleep the night before. I actually nodded off at some point in the first half but the intensity of the remainder of the game made it impossible to happen again. I've actually never seen such a hectic game before in my life. 3 red cards and so many yellows. Kuyt should've equalised, Van Basten made a mistake not playing Nistelrooy. I've never been as excited as a neutral.

I thought it was a great game.
Guest Kaizer Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Italy, Portugal and Spain for me, if either of them win it I will be happy.
