They got absolutely humped by Madrid last night.

Also amusing that they've gone for Guardiola and left Mourinho still kicking his heels somewhere.

Surely Mourinho burned all his bridges there the night of 'Frisk-gate'

Balague has been on Sky and reckons up to 12 players will be shown the door.

Including Eto'o and Deco.

The only players that will definitely stay are the likes of Messi, Bojan, Xavi and Iniesta.

He reckons Pep wants a striker in the Luca Toni mould.

Should be interesting. Guardiola was a great player, but very little experience. All the best, Pep.

Just won the title with Barca B, though

I read a report t'other day saying that the Barca fans all really wanted Mourinho but the board were going to look elsewhere.

Surely Eto'o is on Rafa's short list.

Confirmed that Rijkaard is leaving and Guardiola is taking over as first team manager in the summer apparently.

Guardiola is maybe my all time favourite midfield player(in that deep lying role), I think he hang up his boots way to early, he is only 35 years old now ffs.

Will be really interesting to see what set up he will go for with the Barca team.

FYI he is 37, and since leaving Barca age 30 he played for thee years in Italy with Brescia and Roma and was generally pants.

Was the report written by J. Mourinho?

I'd be amazed if Barca fans wanted him. They're probably only second to us as fans who despise him the most.

That's what I thought.

Here's the article anyway.

My mistake, I thought he was born in 1972.

He was not pants at all in Italy, I watched a lot of his games, but he should never have moved to Roma under Capello, he misused him and it ended badly.

He was great for Brescia, but going there was a really odd and bad move after he left Barca, if only we could have signed him.

Are Barca managers even allowed to deviate from Cruyff's 433 formation?

Closer to 3-1-3-3 they played under him, wasn't it?

My mate Alessandro is still sure Mourinho will pitch up at AC Milan in the summer (though personally I think if any of the stories about his advisors are right, it could well be at Inter).

You're wrong on this one mate - we had wall-to-wall football Italia here at the time, and as much as I like him, he was total pants in Italy.

Great player, and as with kaizer, probably my alltime personal favourite in the deeplying role. What he was is what xabi should aspire to be. I remember the first time I watched him play, freekick outside the area and the commentator said matter-of-factly that it shouldn't be too difficult for guardiola to put this one in the net. And sure enough. Been hooked ever since.

Very young age for his legs to go though.

Great thinker on the pitch and by all accounts a good influence in the dressing room as well. Will be interesting to see how it translates into managerial skills at this level.

If he were to go to Milano, he would probably end up at Inter rather than AC. Can't imagine the likes of Seedorf, Kaka', Pirlo being too happy to play for Mourinho's rigid schemes. They have achieved pretty much anything possible at club level and are superstars in their own right and as such they will not be told by Mourinho what to do. The Inter workhorses on the other hand might. They're a musle team with little flair that would be perfect for a coach like Mourinho.

Also, Jose will probably not like the Berlusconi interference at AC, whereas Moratti is an idiot who would do anything, spend any amount of money to achieve success in Europe.

He's handled Roman, I'm sure he could cope with Silvio.

AC have traditionally been the more tactical team of the two. It's only recently that Inter have got sense and realised all out attack (for an Italian side anyway) wasn't going to win them anything.

Having said all that I do think he's more likely to pitch up at Inter.
