Guest gordy Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Did anyone listen to Saint and Greavesy (Snods) on City yesterday? Apparently a new club is being formed called AFC LIVERPOOL and they hope to play their home games at Prescot Cables ground. They are hoping to get support from fans who cant get to see games at Anfield. Good or bad idea? Have your say.I think its good and will give them a look when they start off

Guest gordy Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 I thought it was a stupid idea when the mancs did it, I think its stupid for us to do it too.Dont think its for the same reasons the Manc scum done it
Guest Raisbeck Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Dont see the point? Making up for not seeing Liverpool by going seeing a team that isnt Liverpool? Might as well go and watch a proper local side like Tranmere if you are really desperate to stay local. AFC Liverpool would have nothing to do with the current club apart from the possibility of a red kit.

Going to watch this team wouldnt be making a statement like im anti LFC. Its not anything like the Mancs done with FC United

Guest gordy Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 its not Liverpool.I know its not Liverpool but how can it be wrong to go and see what they are like? Its not making any anti Liverpool statements like wearing a hat with I Hate LFC which some ars*holes might suggest

You can go watch a ladies basketball team if you like too. Nothing to do with Liverpool FC though. Not sure why it's even in this forum

fyds Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Not interested - it is as said, a defeatist approach - Hicks and Gillett are transitory - LFC are not. I don't abandon people or things the moment it gets a bit tricky.

£440,000 Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Don't see the problem at all. They don't seem to be doing it in reaction to what's happening at the moment. And they've got Mad Erik on board so they're doing something right!
Dee Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 go and watch LFC ladies then! they are hoping for the largest turn out next week or summat
Gunga Din Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 the whole thing is a nonsense idea. If people want to watch non league football if they cant get to Anfield, then there are plenty of non league teams in Merseyside already, who would love another few hundred through the gates. the likes of Marine and Prescot and Southport all need as many fans as they can. I go and watch Cables whenever they are at home and we have no game. If this new FC Liverpool team sprouts up i'llmake a point of not watching them, but i'll still go and see Cables. FWIW, i hope Cables tell them to f*** off if they want to play at Valerie Park

I don't abandon people or things the moment it gets a bit tricky. Agreed, but i dont think all of it is for Hicks and Gillet.. There are fans who are getting fed up with the way things are in football generally, with old school getting replaced with money money money and the bizarre functioning of Sky and their over zealous support and a*** licking to Manchester United... Not saying that all of those who feel this way are a part of AFC Liverpool, but there might be few....
David Hodgson Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Can this be in any way in the interests of Liverpool FC ? No. It's a foolish waste of time.
Mike Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Can this be in any way in the interests of Liverpool FC ? No. It's a foolish waste of time.completely agree. i can't help thinking its an almighty exercise in 'look at me'.
Guest Scot Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 completely agree. i can't help thinking its an almighty exercise in 'look at me'. and not in a good way. There's a fine line between useful publicity and looking like cn*ts.
