Old red eyes Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 St Petersburg v Bayern starting now. Florence v Rangers later. Hope Bayern get hammered.
Old red eyes Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 1-0 to Petersburg. Only 4 minutes gone like.
Old red eyes Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 Bayern had more of the ball and the refereeing decisions and still look crap. Ribery has tried like.
Old red eyes Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 3-0 Petersburg. Bye bye Bayern. German commentator sounding pissed off. BTW, Lahm is having a nightmare.
R A Softlad Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Well they've won the league already. Still good for a laugh.
Kahnee Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Lahm is having a nightmare. According to Revista on Tuesday, his move to Spain is now down to 'when' rather than 'if'
Old red eyes Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 According to Revista on Tuesday, his move to Spain is now down to 'when' rather than 'if' Nothing concrete in the German press. Still getting the line it will be either a PL or La Liga club. Not going to say he's s*** after this one performance, the whole Bayern team have been poor and have had to chase the game from the off. He's still be a 5000% improvement on Ginger nuts, but i believe the price will put us off. Unless of course Hicks f***s off and we get a nice war chest from DIC.
SteveT Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 (edited) German commentator sounding pissed off. Surely you're mistaken. German commentators are always impeccably impartial ..... Any way after last night seeing Europe's top two tw*t teams go through to a final, it's nice to see the third placed team getting a stuffing Edited May 1, 2008 by SteveT

It was a case of how bad Bayern were rather than how good Petersburg played. Seeing Bayern getting a t***ting is always good.

jon_hall Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Zednit t***ted Leverkusen away a short while back as well.
Shirohana Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 How are The Pope's O'Rangers doing? Shoite. Still 0-0, even though Fiorentina are all over them.
Tosh Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 How are The Pope's O'Rangers doing?a) Playing all the football, and outclassing the Italians all over the pitchb) Doing a Houllier away from homec) Hanging on by the skin of their teeth and lumping it upfield for Darcheville to chase Choose wisely young Kahnee
Kahnee Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Shoite. Still 0-0, even though Fiorentina are all over them. So not that shoite as things stand then
Michael Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 How are The Pope's O'Rangers doing? Sebastien Frey has gone off into the town centre for a drink as there is no danger of Rangers getting near his goal. Il Pennello is nice restaurant there. La Ribotta is a decent bar run by fanatical Fiorentina fans. (They always used to let me Liverpool games on the projector screen in the back room) As you can tell not a lot is happening.
Gary Wolf Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 It was a case of how bad Bayern were rather than how good Petersburg played.Petersburg played without 2 key players banned, including their leader Arshavin, and 4 players injured and still goes to Manchester. I'm not their fan but can't help respecting Advocaat and the job he's doing there.

I'm not their fan but can't help respecting Advocaat and the job he's doing there. You will obviously have seen a great deal more of Arshavin, but he impressed me against Leverkusen. Is he worth a bid, even if only to p*ss of Everton who have been linked with him quite a bit?
Old red eyes Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 Petersburg played without 2 key players banned, including their leader Arshavin, and 4 players injured and still goes to Manchester. I'm not their fan but can't help respecting Advocaat and the job he's doing there. They played as a team and Bayern didn't. They were so quick to close down in midfield and that Tomostschuck ( sp ) had a great game at defensive midfield. Rubin Kazan look like the team to beat in Russia this season ( spent loads on decent players ) so it's no small feat for Petersburg reaching the final. The fact the Russian season has only just started might give them a huge advantage to lift the trophy. Looks like ET in the other semi.
Old red eyes Posted May 1, 2008 Author Posted May 1, 2008 Does the away goals rule still count in extra time? Yes.
Gary Wolf Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 I rate him as the best Russian footballer at the moment. IMO he has the potential to solve our winger problem - can play both right and left, terrific speed, good dribbling. As to Everton, I can only wonder if they are ready for the biggest signing in their history. Retersburg director said they will let him leave but the price is going to be exorbitant. It can easily be about 20 mil euro or more.
