Maldini Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 We never got our passing going really, we were brutal in the first half. The second half was a lot better, but you couldn't say we battered them or anything. The sub was obviously a bizarre move, no idea what that was about. Gutted.
surf Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 poorer than them in the first halfbetter then them in the secondpoorer than them in ET score reflects how the match went
Guest Sabre Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Shame that the game was decided by a mistake from one of our most consistent performers. Sami should have put his foot through it. Don't think Chelsea deserved it either on their display. 1-1 and penalties would have been fair.
McBain Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 So much deadwood in that team. I dont think Chelsea are a good side, but they know how to grind a win out. The mancs will slaughter them though The only solace i was ever going to take from tonight is that this train wreck of a season is now done.

The second half was a lot better, but you couldn't say we battered them or anything. The sub was obviously a bizarre move, no idea what that was about. Gutted. Bulls***. Over the two games we were the better team, had more chances, more possession, and should have been out of sight in the first leg. They got lucky. They played well first half tonight, we played well second half. We could have won it tonight.
Gomez Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 We never got our passing going really, we were brutal in the first half. The second half was a lot better, but you couldn't say we battered them or anything. The sub was obviously a bizarre move, no idea what that was about. Gutted. We were by far the better team over 210 mins. Denied four blatent pens (three in first leg, one tonight), and punished for one drop in concentration, and one ginger mishap.
Sion Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Benayoun and KuytTwo of the slowest players in the Worldyet we had them supporting our LONE striker. What the hell was that aboutShould have been Pennant and Babel
Guest Toxteth O'Grady Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Bollc***s to all the negative stuff. We know where the problems lie, but I'm not going to rip the lads over that tonight, they did us proud. I guess the fans who didn't wnt to play the mancs have got their wish.
Guest JV Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Shame the ref was too much of a c*** to give Sami a penalty.
Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Deserved to go out on tonight's match. No complaints from me. We can pick over decisions that went against us, but we got some ourselves too. Torres shouldn't have been taken off. Hopefully some quality can be brought in in the summer. YNWA.
Maldini Posted April 30, 2008 Author Posted April 30, 2008 On tonight's performance alone we didn't deserve to go through, we were far superior last week of course. In the end it's Riise's goal that cost us.

Non stop moaning f***nig c***s.
Case Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 ... is right. We need a right back, cover at left back (for Insua) and another centre back if Agger is fecked. Also a left sided midfielder and a good 2nd striker. And I VERY much doubt we have the money for all that. Bye Bye to Riise, Finnan, Crouch. Keep the rest of the 1st team squad. Gutted, but we never got really going this season.
RedNik Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 My thinking is Rafa didn't bring on Babel because Essien was playing. I get that you want to attack a teams weaknesses, but you shouldn't avoid playing to your strengths, just because you have to go through their strengths to do so.
Caligula Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 We were worth a draw until Benitez went mental. Most stupid thing I've ever seen in 40 years of watching LFC.
Guest Toxteth O'Grady Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 We were worth a draw until Benitez went mental. Most stupid thing I've ever seen in 40 years of watching LFC. Oh do f*** off.
chrisbonnie Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 ah, in all fairness, the chavs deserved it, over all they where better than us tonight, the score was a fair reflection the peno really hurt us, i couldnt belive Hyppia gave such a soft pen away, just after their goal beign disallowed and all, im f***ing utterly gutted, but cant complain about any decisions, dodgy free kicks or pens, we just beaten by the better team on the day i just hope to f*** they go on and win it now, i couldnt stand seeing snoop dog lifting that cup, wither way, i wont it anyway
Case Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 We were worth a draw until Benitez went mental. Most stupid thing I've ever seen in 40 years of watching LFC. ... bit harsh - but it WAS strange. Given that ... Babel DID score...
muleskinner Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 The first goal was from an offside and he bottled out of giving us a penalty in ET. How the f*** anyone can think we got what we deserved I don't know.
Tyler Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 should have had two penalties babel and hyppia both fouledunless torres injured why take him off if he is then kuyt off crouch on
mofus77 Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Lets not forget that this tie was a two logged affair, over the two legs we were the better the team. We didn't get through, such is life. Tonight is not a night for blaming anyone, plenty of players were well below par but lets leave that for another day.
Gomez Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 unless torres injured why take him off Love the assumption you've stumbled upon a great truth Rafa was unaware of. Do you think he was f*king saving him for Man City? FFS.
Caligula Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Oh do f*** off. Oh yes lets do a Benitez love in you pr1ck
Falconhoof Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 Chelsea wanted it more than us. They were desperate to prove a point. When you boil it all down, a clean sheet and a 1 nil win from Anfield would probably have done the job. I'll be gutted if Riise is still a Liverpool player next season. I can't stand the sight of him and it gets worse as the games go by and each season goes by. If we aren't replacing the obvious weak links in the team then we'll never have a shot at the league title.
Gerrardrules Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 We got punished for our poor full backs tonight. JAR's own goal costed us at the end. Bizar substitution from Benitez.
