Hassony Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 (edited) Take penalties now at the second leg with both Gerrard and Carra getting booked? Edited April 24, 2008 by Hassony
Old red eyes Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Nope. I want us to beat them 2-1 in normal time.
Hassony Posted April 24, 2008 Author Posted April 24, 2008 Nope. I want us to beat them 2-1 in normal time. I think we will have the edge on them if it goes to penalties
Guest Anders Honoré Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 no. I think we can do better and we need gerrard for the final.
Old red eyes Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I think we will have the edge on them if it goes to penalties It's a lottery. I know where you are coming from after the last time we beat them on penalties. The sight of Rafa in the yoga position is embedded in my brain. But my heart couldn't take it and a final without Carra and Gerrard would weaken our team considerably.
Andy Mac Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I'd take 3-0 up in 20 mins. Followed by parking the bus on our own 18 yard box. Taking Gerrard and Carragher off after 75 mins (no further goals) The as they panic and pour forward, Xabi a sweet, defence splitting pass for Torres to run onto and bang it past Cech for complete humiliation. Having said that. 0-1. 94 minute goal seems appropriate
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I'd yake us beating them with those two getting booked
Hassony Posted April 24, 2008 Author Posted April 24, 2008 Having said that. 0-1. 94 minute goal seems appropriate With Terry scoring a comical OG
Tobes Rafa Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I think we'd survive without Jamie (and that's more about how well Skrtel has done than a criticism of Jamie) but we'd struggle big time without Stevie.
Guz Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 95th minute own goal after John Terry smashes a clearance straight at Drogba (who is lying on the ground in his own penalty box after Riise breaths on him) and the ball goes flying back into Cech's goal. Please. Or any win/score draw will do like
Joxer Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Take penalties now at the second leg with both Gerrard and Carra getting booked? Over not getting through?Every time.
Guest Beano's Dad Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Tough question but yes I would. Someone would lead them like Sami and an unlikely hero would be found in the final. Probably JAR or Pennant.
Tyler Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 right now yes i might have a different view day of a final against man united but now yes i'd take that
Guest DanTheDaggerman Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 A reverse Eider Gudjohnson situation would be great, but one where the ball actually goes inside the post.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Take penalties now at the second leg with both Gerrard and Carra getting booked? I'd take that right now, yes.
stressederic Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I've always wanted to take a penalty for Liverpool and doing it in the second leg of a European Cup Semi Final sounds like fun, so sure why not.
Awrence Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I thought this was another Fernando Torres thread I don't like the idea of a big game without Gerrard, and it wouldn't seem right without Carra, but I guess I'd take it. Rafa would find a way...
Murphman Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 You can't even think about bookings, every player will have to be 100% up for the cause or we won't go through. The dirty mancs had Keane and Scholes out when they stole their European cup, let's get there first and worry about the team for the final later. We can win a game without our mighty skipper, good as he is.
smicer07 Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 The refs aren't booking anyone at this stage anyway, even if you elbow someone in the back of the head...
Kuyt-fever Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Question. How do you think Gerard would react to being booked in the game? Go into his shell or be more fired up and determined to lead us to the final?
Joxer Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Question. How do you think Gerard would react to being booked in the game? Go into his shell or be more fired up and determined to lead us to the final? I think he'd go nuts in a couldnt give a f**k anymore kind of way and be brilliant.Like in the Olympiacos game running about like a demon, swiping his leg at anything that moved.
MFletcher Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 He could do a Ballack. Ballack was booked in the WC semi in 2002, yet still scored the goal to get them through despite knowing knowing he'd miss the final. That's professionalism of the highest order. They should have an amnesty for finals for everything other than violent conduct.
