Sorry to hear that. Dreadful news.

Yep, condolences to the Lampard family.

I think it is also worth mentioning that Chelsea have been an excellent employer over this matter. I speak from personal experience, that knowing you are being supported by your employer whilst you need to regularly attend hospital to tend to a dying relative, takes a great deal of stress out of the situation and you can concentrate fully on your relative.

Agreed - they have behaved impecably and I am sure they will continue to. This is exactly how my boss was with me and I would not have coped without it.

My sincere condolences.

I would imagine if a boss did not let you attend the bedside of a dying family member they are not worth working for?

My thoughts are with the Lampards.

I remember when my own mother passed away. I was stood at the check in at Dusseldorf airport when my wife rang me with the dreaded news. The airport staff took me to a quiet room and gave me quite a few vodkas. They noticed i was a smoker so they gave me a bottle of Vodka and 200 tabs from the duty free for nothing. They also reimbursed my flight costs. It's little things like this which strengthens your faith in mankind.

I'm sure Frank will be looked after by his club and the footballing fraternity. Just hope the press let him and his family grieve in peace.

Would be a nice gesture if one of our attending fans makes a simple banner for next Wednesday.

LIVERPOOL SEND CONDOLENCES TO LAMPARD

Liverpoolfc.tv 24 April 2008

Liverpool Football Club sends its condolences to Frank Lampard after the death of his mother Pat.

The Chelsea star missed Premier League games against Wigan and Everton to be at his mother's bedside. But, when her condition improved, he returned for Tuesday night's Champions League semi-final first leg 1-1 draw at Anfield.

He returned to be at her bedside after the match but her health suddenly worsened and she passed away after a battle with pneumonia.
