was poor again tonight......had so many opportunities to do something decent, yet always seemed to waste it..

i believe when he came off his passing stats.....were 4, out of 4 passes, only a 33% completion rate..which is simply horrendous

We`ve seen small flashes of a decent player, but for 12millon.....dont you expect much more, for example...someone who can pass? someone who can cross??

all we`ve seen is someone who can shoot and run....and thats about it

His passing is better than your Math!!

But, I do know where you are coming from. One minute you get excited about him and then you get a performance like tonight.

hey my math came from espn....when i read it i was a bit ..ermmmmmmm but anyway!

I still think we should keep him in the side as other teams fear his pace...which is allowing us to function well as a unit..

Been very dissapointed by him...

The stats showed he completed 4 passes, which equated to a 33% completion rate. Meaning he attempted 12 passes.

It would be a bit tricky to complete 33% of 4 passes, after all.

Hope this helps.

Not a winger really. Would like to see him given a roaming role upfront behind the main striker sometime. At present he is more of a instinct player, when he has to think about the game, ie crossing, he fails more often than not.

His problems at the moment also include his inability to get stuck in and tackle/head when the ball is 50/50. I'm not saying he should be like Dirk Kuyt but it's a little embarrassing when the ball just runs by him and he turns and faces the opposition rather than just getting something in the way and winning possession back.

You actually read that and then posted it thinking it was correct.

I'd play him on Saturday to try and regain his form. He's our best option on the left and it'd be great to see him full of confidence on Tuesday.

No way - at home, he'll be more of a threat to them than anyone else we could play in his position.

I think he is more of a threat of the bench, he offered very very little last night, no end product and lost most of the tackles he was involved in. The fact he was subbed inside an hour said a lot about his contribution.

Losing patience? What a w*** thing to say about a young player who's had an impressive first season but has not been amazing against the Mancs and Arsenal away and Everton at home.

It's not just this. He looks a bit intimidated in certain matches. At Old Trafford, it was obvious he didn't want the ball because he thought he'd get mullered.

Think there's elements of this with Lucas as well, in the derby for example.

I think most people can see his potential and what he can bring to the team but he was found wanting in a big game again last night. He will play his part between now and the end of the season I'm sure but there is not a lot of room for players to be carried in games like last nights and next weeks.

"Found wanting in a big game."

How many big games has he played in this season?

He's a young player in his first season with us and playing in the latter stages of the Champions League for the first time.

What do people expect from players these days?

I think he's just getting used to the league, I have no issue with him at all.

But I don't like it when, like at OT, he doesn't want the ball.

Do you think he had a good game ? If you read what I have said, I like him as a player and think he will show his worth but he was ineffective last night. A pretty valid criticism, particularly as he was subbed early on in a straight swap for Benayoun, who the manger thought would offer more to the team in such a pressured environment.

Yes but at Anfield he will have the crowd behind him which should make a difference.

Not really.

But to claim you are "losing patience with him" or that he "went missing in a big game again" is b******s.

I'm aware it's not necessarily you who has made these comments, but it's almost as if people expect players to come in and be world class regardless of age or experience.

He found it really tough going last night, but he'll be learning every time he steps out onto the the field.

I think his problem is that he can't maintain himself under pressure from the game itself, the league he plays in, or simply the defender he is up against.

As a result he makes mistakes, and lot's of them.

There is talent enough to turn it round, but if this was the player that Pako thought we shouldn't have spent all our money on, then I'm agree with him.
