Fair play to Arsène for retracting his words re. Taylor after his initial post-match outburst.

And I suppose you can't expect him to slaughter Diaby in public.

But a "No complaints whatsoever" instead of blabbing on about how high it only was (when it was clearly almost identical - if not with more intent here out of frustration - to what happened to Edouardo, apart from - luckily - the consequences), would have been more decent.

Then again, the a*** players were quite hypocritical in the first place complaining a few weeks ago, seeing what they did to Nani the week before.

I don't wish it on anyone to be on the receiving end of tackles like the ones described above. Not even Liverpool players. Wishing for someone to get crippled is wrong.

* And yes, I know, Scholes can't tackle to save his life. I hold my breath when he does, and don't complain (e.g. that red card in Rome).

There was a challenge in the game yesterday - by Carsley, i think - that looked as bad as the one that broke Eduardo's leg.

Aye. He got a yellow for that didn't he? Remember agreeing with the commentator saying he was lucky it wasn't a different colour.

No i dont remember that...i remember thinking the liverpool player should have been sent off for diving.

Steve Bennet would have got it right.

gray initially tried to make out torres had made the most of it and as the replay appeared he made a grumbling retraction.

Yeah, it was a horrific challenge. As was Diaby's.

We all know Wenger is a hypocritical w*****, he doesn't see things that happen and often sees things that don't.

Looks the same to me. Megson should have come out after and said "The only way Arsenal were going to beat us today was to kick us off the field"

given the speed of the game do you not think that this sort of tackle is going to become more common?

its pretty much a given that anything 'at speed' in terms of a tackle that doesnt take the ball cleanly has potential to damage a players ankles etc epsecially if the tackled foot is the standing foot - i.e. planted on the ground.

I'm amazed how the likes of Ronaldo, (esp) and other wingers like Wright Phillips, Bentley, Lennon who play out wide and generally run with the ball at speed or in Ronaldos case, try to bamboozle defenders arent crippled on a regular basis.

I mean, I'll admit Ronaldo is a great player, loathe as I am to say it, but given the "skill level" and I use that term very loosely, of defenders its a wonder how he hasnt been hurt with the number of games he's played. He's said a while back about the tackles affecting his skills and so on, and I can see where he's coming from with the hatchet merchants about in teams in the bottom half, but how does one balance the speed of the game versus the tackling for the ball? Knee high tackles are one thing but ankle level tackles at speed are as dangerous (potentially) as any other... the tackle in the picture above on the right looks a certain leg breaker to me.

Aye. And he can get a pack of envelopes while he's at it.

Mascherano went postal a few weeks ago, you should have said then.
