"We will have to see whether we are now able to field an unchanged side for the Champions League," added Benitez.

"We have players who are struggling with kicks and knocks, and some are tired after the internationals and now the Everton match.

"Torres, Lucas (Leiva), Xabi (Alonso) and Steven (Gerrard), Babel, they all have some problems but we will have to see how they are in a couple of days' time."

Draw

Loss

Win

That's how it'll pan out i think. We'll field as strong a team as possible for the two CL games and I think Rafa will let the league game slip knowing Arsenal will need the win to keep up their fight for the league while we are in a great spot for 4th after beating Everton. He'll put out a dogs of war team in the league and make Arsenal work their nads off for the win softening them up for the return CL game at Anfield where their young guns will fall on the sword of atmosphere created by our fans.

Bring it on!!!

Its starting to worry me that no-one seems to fancy Arsenal going through in the Champions League. Even Woolnough on Radio 5 last night was backing us to get to the semi-finals.

I feel much more comfortable when we are the underdogs (Juve/Chelsea/Milan 05, Barca 07, Inter 08).

I think we'll need a goal there, be it a win or score draw. I don't want them coming to Anfield with a score draw taking them through.

I'm officially s***ting myself about this one.

No.

I think we're more than capable of getting an away goal.

a 2-1 defeat?

Erm, no. Next fantasy score that makes no difference to real life evens... ;)

I think a 1-1 from there would be a good result, a win a BRILLIANT result and a 0-0 as an ok result.

Mascerano to start and either Arbeloa or Aurelio by the looks of things.

Meanwhile, Benitez has confirmed Javier Mascherano will start at the Emirates on Wednesday after his league suspension.

He said: "Javier will be available for the first leg, he will start this game.

"He was playing well before the suspension and there is no doubt he will be important for us at Arsenal."

Either Alvaro Arbeloa or Fabio Aurelio also looks set to return after both were rested for the Merseyside derby.

Benitez said: "We wanted to protect one of them, but I will not make that decision public at the moment."

A mate sent me a text saying that Torres isn't fit to start tomorrow after injuring his groin in training. He read it online so it's probably rubbish. Anyone else heard a similar story?

April fool?

Hope not. For one he sent it to me at 2. Secondly, he's a red so I don't think that he would take the piss about Torres. It could be that somebody played a trick on him and he unwittingly passed it on.
