McSheffrey got the soft penalty when Jihai Sun won the ball with a clean shoulder to shoulder challenge.

 

That said, I dont think it was that stupid a call, if you are a defender you should think twice before going into such a challenge inside the box.

If MCSheffrey had been the stronger one I guess City would have got a free kick.
