Women commentator, absolute s***. Sounds like a 12 year old who's balls haven't dropped.

true, plus, similar to other commentators she seems to enjoy stating the bleeding obvious.

'Frank Quedrue has been brought in to prevent goals, but if he had scored I doubt Macleish would have complained'....

:hmm:

I have to admit, even as a woman myself, I frowned a bit.

But in her defence, it's not like she's any worse than some male commentators and it's got a lot to do with us just not being used to hearing a woman commentator.

In fact, on a more general commentator note, they more often than not annoy the hell out of me. I can remember one occasion where the sound didn't work and they put a "We apologize ..." thingy on the screen and I was like "Oh don't apologize, thank f*** for this!".

She's not a very good commentator at all. If it was anyone else, they'd be 'replaced', but Auntie will be scared to remove her for fear of being branded "sexist" and "out of touch". So we'll have to put up with her squealing and bizarre utterances for a good while to come.

To be fair to her, she's probably good with a hoover, or an iron or hanging out the washing.

Or describing, with words how someone else is carrying out those tasks.

But football matches, please, no more.

Showing true feminist support my wife asked, "who is that irritating cow?" when she heard the lady in question commentating during MOTD. I hadn't been especially bothered by the commentary as I have learnt to tune out most match commentators as soon as they start, but when I paid proper attention I had to agree that Ms Oatley's voice isn't the most mellifluous.
