D.Boon Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Is this kid going to get a crack at subs bench next season? He looks sharp whenever i have seen him play. Is he ready for the step up?
johngibo YPC Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 I find it really difficult to tell. For example Lindfield bangs them in for the reserves, but was 0 from 9 games on loan at Chester
Hassony Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Rafa has already said that he is keeping a close eye on him, and he does look a step up from Lindfield to be fair (even with the "difficult first season")
alias75 Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 don't forget its 7 subs next season so thats the perfect opportunity to put a couple of ressies on the bench and in certain games where we're comfortable you can ease them in.
eskton Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 can't be as bad as Crouch up front, get him in now
Clay Davis Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 can't be as bad as Crouch up front, get him in nowSince when was Crouch up front bad?
Maldini Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 I find it really difficult to tell. For example Lindfield bangs them in for the reserves, but was 0 from 9 games on loan at Chester He never scored anywhere near the amount of goals Nemeth has or looked anywhere near as dangerous. I know what you're saying though, the standard of reserve football is awful.
Leo No.8 Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) From what I've seen Nemeth has three key atttributes which make him a serious prospect; excellent technique, a cool head and football intelligence. He has the brain to get himself into good positions and make good runs, as well as the technique to take a good touch and put the ball away clinically when he gets into those positions. For me Nemeth has the most potential I've seen in a young striker here since Owen. My gut instinct is that he'll make the step up and take to the higher level better than most. Benitez Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 tbf, eskton is the genius who thinks Mascherano is crapper than crap, don't think we need to take much notice of his thoughts on players talents
Redwire Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 tbf, eskton is the genius who thinks Mascherano is crapper than crap, don't think we need to take much notice of his thoughts on players talents I've just had a look at his posts and literally every one back to last September is either Mascherano is sh*t or Crouch and Kuyt are sh*t. That's it. There must be over forty posts. He's got two opinions and he's going to make sure we hear them.
Andy @ Allerton Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 We've got some very, very promising players coming through
Leo No.8 Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 We have - noticed that Adam Pepper was on the scoresheet for the U-18s the other day and he's only 16. He came out to get an award for best player in his age group at half time a few months ago and I seem to remember thinking he looked a big, strong lad for his age. Haven't seen him play yet, but he's supposed to be a big prospect.

eth Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Lauri Dalla Valle Great goalKeeper should have done better.

He looks a good player from the few bits and pieces I've seen of him though, as does the other u16 Jack Metcalfe who's been playing with the u18s in recent weeks.
growler Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 and we got from the bitters too, which makes it even better.
