Swipe Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Never really noticed him before this season. Was he always this much of a snide little c***? Horrible player. Constantly moaning at the ref, trying to get opposition players booked and sent off. He then has the cheek to applaud when they do. Such a pseudo tought guy too. Was all mouth against Huth today, until the defender pushed him and Flamini didn't want to know. Started mouthing off at someone else! Horrid team, Arsenal are. Would stlll rather the win the league than the mancs, but they really do have a team of t***s.
Guest Prongsy Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 They also get far too much credit. It's not all their fault, and I actually I don't mind the club as a whole and their team of around 2004 was superb but the stuff I read is f***ing awful, about the team and the players - it's stomach churning in it's lack of historical perspective. I've heard Fabregas (who prior to this season scored virtually f*** all, bar some CL 3rd round qualifying goals against some taliban second 11) compared with Platini and called the best player in the world (with ''gerrard quite close behind''). They've been called the best team in the world, even football focus asked Ade if arsenal are the best team in the world (after much consideration he decided that they might actually need to win something first...). I'm constantly hearing how they place the best football in the country by f***tards that equate short passes in front of the defence with great football (don't get me wrong, they do sometimes play good football, but it's a hidious overstatement on most occasions). I've not got anything against them in general but the b******s surrounding them is nauseating.
Guest Prongsy Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Oh, and to add to that, I think Flamini is possibly their best player. A c**k, but fairly decent. The genius that is Wenger very nearly lost him and only played him in his current role out of necessity.

I've also heard Andy Gray and that idiot Craig Burley refer to Fabregas as "the little genius"!! Ridiculous when used as a superlative, but they said it like it was his accepted nickname! Was some on here earlier in season saying Fabregas was better than Gerrard. Is he f***. And the Mancs play better football than Arsenal too. Far, far more dynamic and decisive. They're a good club, but i agree - some seem to think they invented football. Mourinho once said that, despite his Chelsea team and Arsenal having the same amount of points, his team played ugly while Arsenal played football from the moon, it seemed. Guest Prongsy Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 I rarely agree with Moureen, but his recent (but uncalled for) comments about Wenger were spot on. Fabregas added goals to his game at the start of the season, and was playing well enough to deserve plaudits, I've no problem with players getting credit for what they've done, but he has been the most overrated player in europe for a long time. He seems to have gone back to last seasons form lately. He's been poor in the league recently, no f***** dare mention it though, the little platini like demi-god.

Guest Prongsy Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 "Arsenal are a unique team," spat out Mourinho, even though he could not bring himself to mention Wenger by name. "Their coach hasn't won anything for years, but he's an idol.Advertisement "There are no pressures at Arsenal. But do not say he's growing young players into talents. What he does is take jewels to the club and polishes them. It's different. He has time to work in a serene atmosphere and get results."The contrast, in Mourinho's mind, was evident. At Chelsea, even winning five trophies in three seasons, during which Wenger landed one FA Cup, was not enough to satisfy Roman Abramovich.Yet it is Wenger who was given the board backing he feels he was owed at Stamford Bridge, Wenger who is treated as the urbane visionary and feted for the development of the likes of Cesc Fabregas.
Guest JV Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Anyone know how old Fabregas was when they signed him and how old he was when they first played him? Kaizer!
Guest Prongsy Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 16 years 177 days. Give or take a few hours. Remarkable to have made so many appearances for a top side at the age of 20. I don't think he would have been gien such an opportunity at many other top clubs.

He was shifted from pilar to post and from post to bench. Gilberto started most games for arsenal over the last few seasons. Full back, right midfield, left midfield, center back....
mick Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 My point is that when Wenger signed him from OM he was a central midfielder. You seem to suggest that WEnger got lucky playing him in his natural position ??

MFletcher Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 I suspect the intention was always to move Flamini into the midfield at some stage.

Yes, the man is an unmitigated genius. This is what I hate about Arsenal. Wenger is a really good manager, he's won league and fa cup titles for Arsenal and even had a brilliant team in 2004 that went unbeaten, a great achievement - but when he gets credit for playing a central midfielder in central midfield after 2 seasons of f***ing him about and playing him in in a number of positions and putting him on the bench, then plays him when Gilberto gets injured, that makes me sick.... He should get credit for noticing one of his players playing well. Which is the least you'd expect of an experienced manager.

MFletcher Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Flamini was bought as a defensive midfielder. Yes, he has played in a variety of positions but his move into his natural position is hardly a stroke of genius. It was always going to happen at some stage.

Not sure what your point is? Are you disagreeing with me or agreeing with me. Any genius calling by me is done with masses of sarcasm behind it...

He's had Gilberto sitting on the bench the entire year, it's not as if injuries forced his hand as they did in the 05/06 season when he (Flamini) was being played at left back because there was no-one else.
